Looks like the next DVD may be done in Manila.

Interesting that KS does not mention the Journey SuperBowl performance with Robert Plant there (and you know he watched it). I'm sure Arnel and Journey will be able to "pick themselves up, dust themselves off .....", except this time they're starting from a lot higher place.

I suspect (and hope) this will be a great performance by the band and hope it does show up on DVD. I'm sure there will be so many excited AP fans that will make sure it is well broadcast prior to the DVD (Is this a good thing? I don't know)

I read this a couple of days ago, but didn't even make the connection that this might mean the next DVD is being shot there. Good thinking.

I had a feeling it might be done in Manila. Plus that documentary is probably still being shot that's supposed to be out at the end of the year.

The Manila concert is going to be awesome. Arnel is going to have so much energy there cause that's his home turf. That's got to be a once in a lifetime type of deal for him. Everything special to him in his life will be right there on stage with him. It for sure is going to be an amazing moment. I could never sing while crying, I sure hope he will be able to.

I thought they were doing three shows in a row in Japan, March 9,10,11. Then they have to fly to Manila for the show on the 14th. Doesn't seem like the best time to record a DVD when your singer just had a triple header a few days prior. Oh well, I guess they know best and they can always add a little studio magic. The setlist will have to be out of this world to make it a worth while purchase though.

If they shoot a video during the Asian trip, I got a feeling it will be done in Japan. But you can count on a bunch of video coming out shot during the Manila concert. Cause that concert is going to be huge for not only Journey but for the country of the Philippines as well. A DVD shot by Philippine entertainment groups would be a huge money making deal over there and they'd (the Philippines music industry) would be stupid not to have this concert video taped as best they can. KS may be going to Manila just to receive something from the Philippine people, or he has been invited to check out some of the talent over there.....just a thought....never know.

I just seem to remember that when the filming for a DVD was cancelled for one on the West Coast shows, Manila was mentioned.

Yeah, rumor had it that the Shoreline show in California in late September was going to be filmed. And then when it wasn't, the rumor was that it was because they'll film in Manila. But I never saw confirmation of either from anyone other than fans.

I hope so. It seemed like the Revelation DVD concert was quite small relative to even the one in Vegas with Augeri. I'd like to see a pretty damn good crowd. And better sound quality than on Revelation; I could barely hear Arnel on "Wildest Dreams" and a couple of others.

One other tidbit, Kevin Elson has basically always been "front of the house". Interesting change here.

Agree with you on that one. The Revelation DVD was simply a rush-job. The camera shots weren't that good (The camera on Deen in particular - he was always obscured by the drums), and the audio was shaky. Plus it was only 60 minutes long. They just wanted to get this one out in the Revelation package. I still think the Arrival DVD is one of the better-produced concert DVDs I've seen. I'd like to see them really take their time, shoot and produce it right, and release the whole show. Rush got it exactly right with their Snakes & Arrows Live DVD. Phenomenal on all counts.

They say the best place to film a concert in Asia is the Budokan which has been tailored towards doing live filming, but that ain't happening obviously.

Damn right. All 28,000 people in Chicago exploded when Back In Black started and Journey was on the video board getting hyped backstage before the show. It was crazy how loud the place got. Not an empty chair in the house. I'd love to see that on a DVD.

I think so too. It's easier on Arnel to sound like......Arnel. Doing more of the Arnel era Journey songs is the ticket!

I think they started it in Nashville, though, and it was surprising to see residents of the so-called country music capital of the world immediately on their feet. Cheap Trick was but a distant, foggy memory at that point.

Absolutely serious. I thnk so many fans in the PI want to hear Arnel influenced songs. I'm betting on it. I love seeing someone else who loves "World Gone Wild". My other favorite from Arrival is "Livin To Do"

I thought the Revelation DVD from Vegas was really good including 3 of the best songs from the new album and a great venue and crowd, my guess is next dvd is archive related with perry at the helm.
And given that we have a great Revelation dvd I don't oppose going back in time again for the next dvd release.

I hope they're not as sedate in the Philippines like they've been on some of those TV shows Arnel was on. I know the Plokkers will go nuts at the concert, but I don't know how Filipino audiences are, in general, at rock concerts compared to the U.S. You can see in Japan how much quieter they are. I'm sure somebody here can answer that question, like SH or GB. Of course, there will be a lot of pride for Arnel there, and, hopefully, that shows in audience response.
