He's the fuckin man. I've had the chance to see a lot of great guitarists live and Neal has always blown me away. He, Steve Lukather, and John Petrucci all consistently rock me live

I feel the same way, like why did I even bother starting this thread on this Journey board.

So I'm going to go a step further and say not only Happy Birthday but that without Neal's creative contribution to the writing of the absolutely amazing songs of Journey and his brilliance on guitar Journey would have never achieved the height of popularity it did. I admire his passion as a musician and am so thankful he hasn't lost the drive to perform.

I'm not leaving either, but it sure is confusing and disappointing to see so much derision thrown at two core members of Journey when supposedly we are here because we love their music. They couldn't have personally peed in everyone's cornflakes, so what is the deal? What could Neal and Jon have possibly done to some of the posters on this board to justify so much negativity?

Happy Birthday Neal Schon. To a great guitarist, great father, and a very good person. You keep this machine rolling and are the foundation, the backbone. Not to mention a great talent evaluator in finding Arnel Pineda. I wish you were a football scout, the Bears need help.
