Neal at the SM MegaMall in the Philippines?
It was just awhile ago... around 11:00, before lunchtime. Today's March 5th.
I was having a defective LCD monitor replaced up at the 4th floor (a BenQ E900HD, at ABC computers),
and was on my way down the escalators to the basement with my wife in tow, for a ramen lunch at RaiRaiKen,
when I ran into a dead ringer for Neal, sporting black T-shirt, trademark shades and tan, accompanied by this
very petite woman (at a glance, she recalled an Italianesque Cheryl Cole) followed by this well built Filipino who
I figured was their bodyguard.
They seemed to be in a hurry, so we let them get on the down escalator first.
I tapped Mr. bodyguard on the shoulder and very quietly asked if the guy with him was indeed Neal Schon.
The guy paused and firmly said no, then quickly turned forward.
Ri-iiiight. Not too many Schon lookalikes out there, especially here in the Philippines.
Anyway, they soon got off the escalator, and I saw them walking fast towards and into the mossimo store.
The same mossimo store with the poster in front, advertising their sponsorship of the upcoming Journey concert.
I might have at least belatedly wished Neal a happy birthday, but the bodyguard's response was enough
to tell me they didn't want to be recognized, and I respect that. If, as is almost certain, that was
indeed Neal, he's a lot shorter (but much broader and more powerfully-built) than I would have expected.
He seemed relaxed, despite their fast pace, but his companion and the bodyguard seemed a bit anxious.
If Neal's chilled-out enough to visit MegaMall, then it bodes well for the concert performance.
Anyways... just wanted to share.
