AI - is it rigged?

Today the drudgereport.com put up an article that says AI is fixed and a poll shows that 63% believe that. Matt Drudge posts other sources , but does not write them. You can read most mag articles and newspapers columns there. I have not watched AI much, except the final weeks. Really in the last 6 yrs few have made it big. The winners have to find someone that will bring music to them like David Foster,Clive Davis etc. or be able to write and play an instrument IMO. Most are good singers, but so what? The 2 guys that play piano this week are exceptional . The employee that outed this should take a lie detector test and if it proves her being truthful then AI should have to refund any monies incurred by those that vote. Yes, I know that lie detechtor tests are inemissible in court .

I haven't seen AI this season. I usually just watch it towards the end. But they picked that grey-haired guy, Taylor Hicks, that lost a record contract and can't sell tickets to 35.00 concerts. So I doubt it was fixed, b/c they probably would have wanted someone more marketable.

Very rigged. Ofcourse it is, just like Football (Soccer) at the big occasions, everybody knows that.

You mean the guy who Journey opened for in New Orleans? I know I know, I still have a hard time believing this.

I would agree with you, but what was it, 3 years ago, the finals were down to Gay Aiken and the Nutty Professor? Didn't Nutty win it? That fat fuck still can't sell a record to save a Happy Meal, and Gay, wow is he on fire. Writing, singing, performing and now sucking dicks. Fabulous career there.

Taylor Hicks apparently can't GIVE away tickets to his show... Gee, no shit?!?!?!

http://www.tmz.com/2009/03/17/taylor-hicks-tickets-totally-worthless/

And YES they must know.

Well, knowing who they want to win, and accusing AI of being "rigged" are two different things. I'm sure they KNEW they wanted Chris Daughtry to win - but it didn't happen. Now, I do believe there a little subliminal influences and "cues" from the judges and the production of the show that may direct the audience to respond more favorably to certain contestants. Then again, it could just be me and my tin-foil hat conspiracies.... 8)

Agreed. Like the sob stories they saturate us with to try and get people to vote out of sympathy rather than in praise of talent.

Thing is, they pulled the sob story card with Danny Gokey this year because his wife passed away - but they don't need to subliminally influence people to vote for him. He has a fabulously soulful voice and can garner votes on that alone.
I'm sure he would reach the final without any of that stuff. And if I thought about it more I'd probably think it is an insult to his talent for them to use his bereavement as a marketing tool. Exploitative, even. However, he must have said it was ok for them to do that.
So yes, it is rigged in that way.

P.S. I think Danny might actually win.

Yeah that guy was a freakin' joke. I mean I do not hold any delusions that I can sing solo well at all but Damn I'm better than that guy.

It is TOTALLY rigged....the best singer (entertainer) never wins that show.

Oh, that's just the obvious stuff (that goes without saying). I actually think it's even more insidious than that. In my opinion, the words the judges use to critique certain contestants are as persuasive as the performances themselves. I get the sense that the judges are already manipulating the voting just by their responses to the contestants without having to rely on outright rigging.

P.S. I also think Danny has a strong chance.

I agree with you on that, too. Particularly Simon.
Not so much Paula. I'm not sure she uses manipulating words on purpose. Hell I don't think she knows what word she's going to say next. Her sentences and speech pattern is so staccato! She just seems to be happily floating about in a little world all of her own.

I had to Google that.

She is always happy and positive, I'll give her that.

Not sure if it's rigged, but I'm almost certain it's manipulated.

Said it before and I'll say it again- this is a two way contest between Lil and Adam (or it SHOULD be) There isn't a preformer on that show near to their quality and stage presence.

There are 2 guys that both play piano and very well. I will always take the musician/singer. If they have any writing talent they may have a chance at a career.
