Nice job Dodd you simpering idiot.

Dodd said he faced outside pressure (i.e. Geithner).
It was either add the loophole or lose the amendement altogether.
Obama's campaign was swimming in Wall Street cash.
Seems its time to grease the paymasters.

I don't even care that he is a Democrat...He could be a Republican...it wouldn't matter...and the idiots on both sides who allowed that to get through need to go too.

Also, who care what the outside pressure it, especially coming from the executive branch...the Congress is supposed to write the laws...not the the executive.

Geithner is a first class idiot too...and yes you can point out Bush's man was no better...but that was then...this is now...Geithner is a moron, and his tax cheating ass needs to go too.

I wish we could trust the people we elect, but it is more and more obvious we can't.

So now, unless the pass some ex post facto law, which will be struck down as unconstitutional on any appeal, we are forced to allow AIG to pay out our money to the very people who helped AIG fail!

I am so sick of the politicians...give me a STATESMAN or STATESWOMAN who is feels they are beholden to the PEOPLE not just the people with money, and be he/she a democrat or republican I would back them to the ends of the earth!

And what do they run their million dollar re-election campaigns on?
Garbanzo beans?
It costs millions or more to run an effective campaign.
Any serious attempt at public financing is either seriously flawed, derided as communist, or both (see McCain-Feingold).
Don't hate AIG slut Chris Dodd, hate the game.

Oh I do hate the game TNC...but I dispise those who play it as well. If the rules are broken the game doesn't work, and it is obvious they are broken.

This nation needs to see all of Congress as representing themselves to get re-elected . They represent lobbyists, unions,PAC's as far as the eye can see and those entities ,that we join, use out support to push Congress. In other words we are the problem. 20 some yrs ago they're was a push for campaign finance reform. I remember telling my mom that Campaign finance reform w/o term limits would not work. Check out how many on Congress was deep in the AIG pockets. Dodd, Frank and Obama got 100,000.00 so AIG was a friend to all now ck out the rest of the the crooks in Congress. STOP SPENDING TO BUY VOTES !!!!

Republican or Democrat, you just wish that once someone would put the cause for the greater good above their own agenda. Huckabee has a great idea (shared by others) that there should be term limits on Congress. 12 years and then you're out. Not, 40 years and run for re-election again.

$169,300 is the salary of every non-committee leader in Congress. A good living but, not a huge amount of money. Yet, they are all millionaires through other politically-driven means. Sure, some are successful lawyers and doctors (democrats usually) or businessmen (republicans) prior to politics. But, that still doesn't change the fact that they get sweetheart deals and handouts all over the place.

Hope and Change....
