Wasn't sure if these have ever showed up here, and I thought they were kinda cool when I saw them! Paul may not be many peoples cup of tea, but it's just cool to see Schon play something different. Hope you like these...

1. (I think he said this one's called "Rolling Stone")

As long as Rodgers isn't covering Queen I think he's awesome. One of my favorites.

I haven't checked the youtube links but i guess this is the Paul Rodgers and Company Cd that was released a while back. If you see it, buy it. Hendrix with a better singer and a better guitarist. When you hear this you realise what all the fuss about Hendrix was about. Personally I always thought he sounded like shit.

Not that recent, actually...that was recorded at the Grove of Anaheim in January 2002, for the Bad Company concert DVD Merchants of Cool, which was released a few months later.

I was fortunate enough to have been invited to the filming that night by Paul and his lovely wife (and manager) Cynthia.

Here's a shot with Paul and Cynthia from backstage after the show:

I've got a couple of shots with Schon and Slash from that night somewhere...I'll try and scan and post them shortly.

Yep...that CD is a prize, and a must for all PR fans. Turns up on eBay now and then, sometime cheap, sometimes pricey.

By the way, you all DO realize who the drummer in that group (and the video) was...right?

Hint: he's also one helluva singer... 8)

Thanks you, sir!

For me, the one with Slash is actually "cooler," maybe only because I've spent a lot of time with Paul, and a had few meet-ups with Schon. But that night was the only "hang time" I've ever had with Slash, and it was a blast. He actually bought me a couple of beers, and we spent a fair amount of time talkin' fun smack about Axl Rose...he had barred Slash (and all other former bandmates) from entering a Guns 'N Roses gig at the Hard Rock in Vegas just a week or so before.

Good times!

I'll try and post the other pics to this thread in a day or two...

Is it true that Slash smokes one after another and drinks Jack Daniels like Dwight Howard does Gatorade?

yup jim, amazing. this actually has come up before but let's do it again!!! Ii have the dvd of this show - cyndy was there.

this show is Paul Rodgers and Friends- not to be confused with The Paul Rodgers and Company project. Neal only plays one track on that cd. Muddy Waters Blues I think.

If you're talking about #3 in Jim's initlal list of videos in the OP, that is indeed the Paul Rodgers and Company band, and the video is from the concert where the five tracks on The Hendrix Set were recorded.

Neil's playing on Muddy Water Blues can be found on the Paul Rodgers Muddy Waters tribute of the same name, which was nominated for a Grammy award. Schon's electric version of the title track closes the CD, while an acoustic one featuring Buddy Guy opens it.

When ranking the top rock and roll voices of all time, Paul Rodgers needs to be on the list somewhere.
