Balingen

What a finale of the first festival day at the Bang Your Head 2009: 'Journey' which brought to an end, what the other bands throughout the day had meticulously prepared. The U.S. musician blatantly showed why they are the most successful rock bands in the country. Melodic rock at its finest enthusiastic fans from the very first note, singer Arnel Pineda underlined with his irrepressible urge to move the power, in pieces such as "Anyway You Want It 'and' Wheel in the Sky 'is. A conclusion of the due day festival, it is for fans of musicians like him. For the best open-air weather celebrated it out themselves and their music. The ideal template for 'Journey' is not supplied, incidentally Less than Dirk Udo Schneider, who together with his men Balinger the evening sky with a best-of-program of the Extra-filled class. Today we are on the Balinger Fairgrounds from 10 clock continues, will be headlining 'Blind Guardian', that is precisely the formation, at the first Bang Your Head in the Festhalle Hirschauer the groundwork for a successful Festival presented.

When the lights go down...

Already on the first evening is a fireworks display on the fairgrounds Balinger fallen, and a Hitfeuerwerk! With the grandiose 'Separate Ways' JOURNEY went into their set, and in the following 90 minutes were still some known to radio classics, including 'Lights',' Stone In Love ',' faithfully ',' Do not Stop Believing ' , 'Anyway You Want It' and of course the indestructible 'Wheel In The Sky' in a surprisingly lively version - all presented by the grandiose Arnel Pineda, the fair was all Vorschußlorbeeeren and in fact sounded like Steve Perry in his best days ...

But all this is already history: have just JOURNEY and its crew leave the premises - and we will follow soon, before it enters the second and final round of BYH!

Balingen, Germany "Bang Your Head" Fest
]Saturday, June 27, 2009 - 11:31 am - LC73
Neal called me after the Balingen show and wow! He was so pumped up after the show and said he had a amazing time on stage with the guys and loved the head banger's audience's huge acceptance of them all. He mentioned he was running around back and fourth rocking more than he already does! Love to see that!

He was happy to have his little bro back too-Deen as we all were. So happy he's feeling better and everyone's well wishes were incredible to say to least.

I remember when we met the guys from Slipknot last year and how they mentioned that they rehearse to Journey songs at times. That was a real kick to hear for the JRNY boys. Deen and I both really dig them and were going kind of crazy at their concert we attended last year

Till next time,
LC

Followed by this from Neal:

Doesn't sound like Graspop was quite as good :? :?

Hello everyone,
Just got back from the show in Brussels, Belgium. I think we did very good considering it was mostly a Slip Knot , Korn show. Alot of crazzzy billings for us over here this time for us.
All in all, audiences have been amazing!! Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome... it was truly appreciated
Also Bang your Head headline show was awesome!!! Dean played great last night and even better tonight ....
OK , thats it for now, everybody is burnt and ready to get home to our loved ones and chill ....

Much Love and Peace,
Neal

It still sounds like they racked up an amazing Eropean tour.

By all accounts very successful. I wonder how the numbers stack up compared to the Augeri years in Europe? Only asking because it would be some measure of progress. I believe they are making progress, while others still try to argue that the band is in a decline. I don't see a decline as the fatalists would want to believe. It would still be nice to see some stats somewhere.

Overall what I'm seeing and hearing is a great job by the entire band. Kudos to Journey! :D

Considering Journey is nowhere near a metal band, being accepted is an accomplishment.

Very proud of my idol Arnel, he kicked ass. He surprised and amazed a lot of people.

And of course the band....they kicked ass. Neal, judging from the reviews, rocked them to their heart's content.

Journey rocks!!!!!
