I hate to admit it...but I think it's a better album than Trial By Fire....fuck, it's better than ROR too, with the exception of a couple songs. I seem to enjoy it more. Lately it's been taking priority in my rotation.

If you took the 10-12 best songs from TBF, Generations, Red 13, and Revelations,
and then put them on one album, Arrival would STILL blow them all away.

I'd put any of my five favorite songs off Arrival up against anything the band as ever done. I say it all the time, but it's a damn shame that more people don't know this album. Still sounds as fresh as it did the day it was released.

Higher Place
Livin' To Do
Live And Breathe
To Be Alive Again
We Will Meet Again

Arrival has great musicianship, all the way through, but it's not a better album than TBF. Not in a long shot.

trial by fire is a production nightmare(not in the generations range)and songs are quickly put together, has grown a little on me since its release, but if you take the couple new us release songs, and dump a couple of the jap release ballads, arrival is the record they should have released to follow up frontiers

I thought Arrival was tired and weak. A few good spots, but nothing new.

Dude...TBF is the best produced record they've ever put out.

And yeah, Arrival is one of the few Journey records where I can listen to almost the entire thing and not skip songs. I don't always listen to "With Your Love" but the rest is gold.

Trial By Fire is "Message Of Love" and then a bunch of mid-tempo snoozers and Perry ballads.

Arrival is still too ballad-heavy, but kicks TBF's ass by a long shot. Some amazing tunes on that record.

Great minds think alike. I love, love those songs, plus World Gone Wild.

Arrival, overall, is a far better album than Trial By Fire. I love Arrival from beginning to end.

We Will Meet Again--in the top 5 of my favorite Journey tunes.

I've always felt the production was subpar and the vocals were somewhat weak. It does have a few bright spots, but they were never able to maintain the level of play and production that they initially had with Remember Me.

When Arrival came out.. "To Be Alive Again" was the "put the top down and crank it" song..

+me ...Arrival is relatively new to me and I like it ...better than TBF?!?! No way ...seems like we have this conversation
every three months or so, but my opinion remains the same!! TBF better musicianship, better songs, better production, better
vox ...waaaay more devotion to the emotion!!! SA ...I am lovin' you though!!

Arrival is there best material since Frontiers. Even though I enjoy the new music of Revelation, it doesn't even come close to Arrival in my opinion.

Here I am cocksuckers!

This is a great album and definitely the best since Frontiers. Very strong and I never really had a problem with the album length.

These 6 are also my favorites. I tend to listen to Arrival more than most Journey albums right now. I get on a kick for the pre-Perry stuff and Revelation on occasion.

Wasn't TBF recorded and mixed at Skywalker Ranch, and Arrival recorded and mixed in Cain's basement?
The song from TBF Perry wrote about his mom is the only song besides "Message of Love" I can listen to.

Well, and We Will Meet Again. But I did call Live and Breathe one of Journey's masterpieces. But maybe that's We Will Meet Again. I fluctuate. This album is one of the best Journey EVER made, imo. I adore it.

I thought Arrival was recorded in NYC. Cain's studio is a separate building. Check out the link on the sale of Cain's Marin home.

I find myself listening to Arrival more than I do TBF, however TBF is an awesome album.

The standouts for me from Arrival are:

Higher Place
All The Way
All The Things
Livin' To Do
I Got A Reason
Nothin' Comes Close
To Be Alive Again,

But the ONE song from that CD that I can listen to over and over is "Livin' To Do".
