You wouldn't let your kids look up to some thug basketball player as a role model. So why would you hold Neal to a higher standard. The dude's an amazing, creative artist. Stop expecting so much from any of these guys and just enjoy the music and their talents for what they are.
Hallejulah. I couldn't agree more.
Enjoy it while you can. The ride will be over soon, and we'll still be here bitching, saying, "Damn...I wish Journey hadn't called it a career".
Before the internet, nobody knew about anyone's dirty laundry, and the world was a better place because of it. I personally couldn't give a fuck what Schon does with his John Thomas. As long as Journey's around, I'm going to buy all the records, and go to the shows.
Same goes for Van Halen, Boston (even its current state), Night Ranger, Loverboy, Springsteen, Bryan Adams, and so on...even Def Leppard. The odds of ANY of these great bands still recording and touring in 2022 is remote at best.
Live it up while you can.
