Jesus Christ THREW out the money changers from WITHIN the holy temple...he didn't give them a vendor booth and a permit to hawk their wares. Sick, just sick.

"Receive free, give free. For man (or woman) does not live on bread alone..."

I'm sad too. How can he not see what he is associating himself with? I have no problem with him looking for answers, searching out his spiritual side. But this has less to do with answers to spiritual questions, and more to do with promoting political power and achieving wealth.

And....... Now I'm back on Neal's side.. Ha ha.

Actually I'm on neither. I have zero issue with the white house visit. I have a ton of issues with this shit. I thought this was a parody of the 80's at first.

Yuck.

Wasn't this man involved with the church secretary Jessica Hahn? Oh my....it just keeps getting worse. And they want people to trust them with your hard earned money! Oh heck no! I refuse to buy something for somebody I can't afford to buy for myself!

And what's really sad is that they don't seem to be embarrassed either. They actually think they are doing right when so MANY know that they are just so wrong its not even funny.

Never would have imagined this. I still respect his musical abilities - but really, connecting yourself to Jim Bakker?! Like Lora said, - sad.

If people would take that 45.00 and donate it to a homeless shelter,
or help the vets fund, or their local animal shelter... I have a feeling
it would do a lot more good there, then sending it to JC's wife.

That's what I was thinking... or maybe a skit on Saturday Night Live.

It was so hard to watch that video. I haven't been in contact with Jonathan since the 90's, but back in the day we spent time with him on the road when Journey was on tour and when he did his solo tour, we went to his wedding to Liz, went to his brother Mug's wedding, hung out at his house and his home studio. He was great to be around. I don't know who this guy is now.

Journey Member Jonathan Cain Claims Band’s Smash Don’t Stop Believin’ Is Actually About Jesus [VIDEO]

http://www.joemygod.com/2017/08/25/jour ... sus-video/

August 25, 2017 Christianists, Pop Music

From the right wing Christian site Charisma News:

Jonathan Cain—songwriter and keyboard player for the band Journey—revealed on The Jim Bakker Show the Christian roots of the band’s biggest hit. His father imparted some Christian wisdom to him, including the phrase “Don’t Stop Believing.” He shares his testimony and performs the song live in this clip.

Cain is married to Trump “spiritual advisor” and scamvangelist Paula White (in the red dress), who recently earned national headlines for declaring that opposing Donald Trump is opposing “the hand of God,” and that “demons” attack Trump because they fear his Supreme Court appointments. White sells “resurrection seeds” for $1144, a price she claims was personally set by God.

According to Wikipedia, Don’t Stop Believin’ has sold more digital downloads than any single released in the 20th century. The track peaked on Billboard’s pop singles chart at #6 in 1981. Cain is listed as one of the song’s three co-writers, along with Steve Perry and Neal Schon. Last year Cain released a solo gospel album titled What God Wants To Hear.

So... if someone doesn't think that can hurt the brand they aren't paying attention. That is atrocious.

I wonder if Steve Perry would agree that he was writing this song about Jesus?

Jon has gone WAAAAY overboard with this.

I do like that word.....scamvangelist!! Too bad it's now associated with Jon.

I was a bit mad at Neal over the past month, for the way he brought the band business out in public. This stuff here just sickens me. Cain has to go! The Journey name should not be associated with the Bakkers, or any televangelists, period! This is coming from a man of faith. I don't think Jesus, or God would want their salvation sold for profit. These two, Paula and Jonathan, are going to use references to their past, to bilk people out of untold millions of dollars. Her past is checkered, so why not use his past music success and fame, to boost her agenda? Sorry Jon, you have fallen into a trap, her web, and she is going to end up as the black widow, who drew you astray, then killed your ass and took your family's inheritance away. I've seen this movie and I know how it ends.

One of my favorite South Park episodes, Eric Cartman's christian rock band - Faith + 1: http://southpark.cc.com/clips/154150/faith-plus-one

This is another great episode from a few years back, regarding how the music industry is dealing with free downloading of music. Funny Journey reference: http://southpark.cc.com/clips/154153/me ... oPlay=true

Jim Bakker? He's still around, the original televangelist scam artist? What a mess. And that was one big infomercial.

Couldn't watch the whole thing. Cain is an opportunist imo. He went to Nashville hoping to write for country artists. That didn't work out, so now he has hitched his wagon to the lowest hanging fruit possible. I have met good, yet dim-witted, people that send half their paychecks to these televangelical shysters. Their shtick appeals to the emotionally vulnerable and mentally impaired.

It's pretty obvious why Neal is feuding with Jon now, isn't it? This kind of shit is toxic for a rock band.

Bakker went on to assure his listeners that a global catastrophe was near, explaining that they needed to immediately purchase the Jim Bakker Tasty Deluxe End Times Nachos Plus Dessert Bucket, which contains 14,789 servings and has a shelf life of 60 years, for a donation of only $7,900.
