Never saw this one before. Reviews are actually pretty good! Well, the man CAN play the piano...as long as he doesn't sing. :D

But he seemed to have inside information, well maybe, cause he said the song Against the Wall, weeks before the album was released, was a good song that all of the "loonies" would gush over, but the rest of GH+5 sucked.
I seemed to remember a "Barbie"? who would reply back and forth with Meanie and I always thought for sure it was the same person cause all they did was trash Perry and agree with each other.

Yes, Meanie would say he had inside info. It seems I remember he said he had a copy of FTLOSM before it was released but would not be specific enough to really prove it...like song names and such. So, I don't know if he really did, or not and was just playing games - which he LOVED to do.

Yeah, I liked Barbie...she was pretty cool. I traded Email a bit with her. She was definitely not Meanie. I wish she was still around, I think she dropped out when Sky's forum became BT.

Well, I am sure Jim Rudd is Meanie. But, Mike Dimino was JourneyTroll...I remember that now. He came from the newsgroup (alt.music.journey) and where he was originally TornadoJackson but changed his nick when he joined here.

Froy's first name is also Mike...do not remember his last name, but would know it if I saw it. I see him on FB once in a while. He has a very long history in Journey and Styx fandom. Way back in the early 90's he was selling bootleg concerts for something like $50/cd $30/cassette, $75 VHS. If you ever heard the Journey rarities CD, that originially came from him...that had some demo versions of infinity and Street Talk songs, alternate version of "Don't Tell Me Why Your Leavin'", and a lot of other things. A few of us grouped together and bought the CD's and VHS tapes then started spreading them around for free, the way we thought it should be. I know at one point, Journey went after him and forced him to stop selling them.

Sounds like he and I are similar. I was on BackTalk quite a bit for a while but it just got old fighting with the loons.

I was on BT until I started critiquing Journey a bit. I remember defending Styx, that they were more active in releasing music than Journey was and arguably more successful...and I made the comparisons. I got a note from one of the mods saying I needed to stop being so critical or I would be kicked off. By that time, BT was losing it appeal anyway and it was more "real" here so I just stopped posting on my own.

I started coming here when the Tapegate thing started and have kinda lurked ever since. Seems like some of the same ol' same ol' for the most part.

I've been here since the beginning...when it was "Melodic Rock Hot Spot".

You might be a REAL Journey Fan if you have copies of Red 13 without the scarab on it (only sold at concerts).

You might be a REAL Journey Fan if you think Red 13 and Eclipse are both excellent.

You might be a REAL Journey Fan if you know who Jeremey Hunsicker is.

You might be a REAL Journey Fan if...

...You know about the Christmas version of the Foolish Heart video in which the rest of the band is waiting for SP to finish singing backstage and when he joins them they all wish their fans a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
...You have a personalized license plate that reads JRNYROX with sigs from all the Augeri era members.
...You've had front row seats the last 6 times you've seen them live.
...You've played hackey sack with Deen for an hour before a show and been completely blown away by his dexterity and skill.

You might be a REAL Journey fan if....

...you own Back to the Innocence(Jon Cain), and heard that GOD AWFUL version of 'Faithfully'

...you know who Jason Kelty is, and agree that he should have replaced SP.

...you know of the message board 'The Water Cooler', and agree that Maui Tom was the biggest prick going at that time.

...you have heard, or own the TBF radio spot bootleg CD. That shit is fucking HILARIOUS.

You might be a REAL Journey fan if you thought you owned all the Journey albums in the 1980's and then walked into the record store and saw Dream, After Dream and were suddenly on cloud nine.

Or, you own both version of "Back to the Innocence"...just because there is a 3-4 song difference between the US and import versions.

...you know who Jason Kelty is, and agree that he should have replaced SP.

You mean JSS, or was it Augeri? I don't remember...but I know they didn't really consider anybody to replace SP besides Augeri.

...you know of the message board 'The Water Cooler', and agree that Maui Tom was the biggest prick going at that time.

Nah, Rick was worse. Or was his name Rich? Don't remember...the arrogant guy pal of NavyBluSeals.

...you have heard, or own the TBF radio spot bootleg CD. That shit is fucking HILARIOUS.

Or, you own "A Test of Time", the promo for the box set. Or, you didn't buy the remasters because you already have all the "extra" songs. Or, you were disappointed in "Greatest Hits Live" because you already had all of those songs and you KNOW there were other awesome live songs that could have made the CD instead of the Captured songs you already have. Or, you call BS about there not being any good recordings of the Soundstage concert where "Good Times" came from because you own a reel to reel of that concert.

You might be a REAL Journey fan if....

You have a copy of 'Frontiers...and Beyond'

You've seen the 'Blue Jean Network' tape

You've actually 'spliced' together 'Feeling That Way', and 'Anytime', so they follow each other when your ipod is on shuffle...LOL

...you are still a fan after:

Firing Ross and especially Steve Smith
Raised on Radio
Making you watch Glass Tiger
Discovering Michael Bolton
Not touring for TBF
Canceling every show in your town during the Augeri era (3 shows- got myself banned from Back Talk after the second one)
Tapegate
Firing JSS
Playing the same damn 12 songs every show
Not recording a new album for going on 7 years now.

Wow. Why did the SA shows get cancelled? They toured pretty consistently.

True. I got "In The Beginning" and it sounded like they tried to remaster it or something. It sounded all "tinny" or something. Anyway, they should have put Cookie Duster on "In The Beginning" to give REAL fans a reason to buy it. It contained all previously released material.

You know you're a real Journey fan if you go to Journey concerts and bypass a few songs on the setlist just to study Jonathan Cain and his expressions if he ever cracked a smile or if Neal seemed bored and if that spelled doom for the bands chemistry.

You might be a REAL Journey fan if you saw Journey with Steve Perry on Escape Tour, and then saw Steve Perry on his solo tour, and then saw Journey with Steve Augeri, Jeff Scott Soto, and Arnel Pineda.
