Question: Would you rather hear and see a concert with some "help" for the band, hear and see a concert that sounds like crap with no help, or... have no concert at all? That's what we have to decide these days. I'd rather see a show with some assistance...but that's me.
To demand the excellence that some seem to be demanded these days does not seem reasonable.
Yeah. In my opinion, no young and healthy singers should ever be using autotune. And even if it's a singer who is way past his prime, like say Steve Perry for example, it should be made public by the singer/band themselves that it's being used. But I'm not entirely opposed to an old worn out singer like Steve Perry, for example, to use autotune. I'd rather hear Perry, Pineda, or anyone else who's loosing their voice due to age and constant wear-and-tear use autotune to sound good, than for them to sound like absolute shit live in concert. However. In general. None of the members of Journey who are playing instruments like guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, should ever be miming along to recordings of their playing. With the exception of where TV shows require it.
