-Says they are having a blast playing longer 2.5 to 3 hour shows and wanted to do 'an evening with' shows for awhile now.
-Neal has changed his mind on Journey cover bands. He now thinks they help keep the music alive and it does not impact Journey official.
-Neal says they (the band) are getting along very well and having fun.
- Neal says the band is stretching out quite a bit. He claims this band is capable of doing alot of diff. stuff. He defended jamming and extended solos, saying it gives Arnel a little breathing room with quite a long show.
He says (paraphrasing) "You know you always got your haters out there that are gonna go 'well what did they do, play another 20 min guitar solo?' Yeh, that's right dummy!"
- Neal says audiences are loving the jam at the end of La Do Da. He describes it as a early Miles Davis 70s extension. He also says people are mesmerized by deep cuts like Of A Lifetime.
- Regarding Arnel's outlook/disposition....
Neal says the media is the media. He claims that Arnel seems very happy and is having a blast. He is holding out very well.
Claims that Arnel has been in a great frame of mind.
- On whether November 28th San Fran concert is the final show....
As far as Neal knows it is. Nothing is planned after that. There are 3 shows in Hawaii and a Japan show not yet advertised. This is all he knows. Nothing else has been discussed.
- On his future plans....
Neal says, wherever he goes, inevitably he is taking Journey with him, as he has been there since the start and it is his baby. He likes the jam aspect and wants to take it a bit further musically. He considers himself in the area of Phish and Dave Matthews and thinks a jam Journey project could be like The Dead on steroids.
-Neal acknowledges that the current band could end up doing a longer farewell tour.
- On whether he has spoken to Perry.....
He has not spoken to SP in quite some time. He conceded it is possible, but SP has to be willing. Neal says he is very open minded and has nothing but great respect for everyone who has been in this band.
- Neal claims there is big surge among younger audiences of earlier album like Infinity, Departure, and Evolution. They are getting a massive reaction when played live.
-Regarding any unfinished business with other projects...
Neal says when he moves on, he moves on. However, he keeps in touch with Sammy and is open minded to working with him. He was trying to work with Waite and says Waite sounds amazing. However, "he's in his own world out there." He also mentioned unfinished business with Paul Rogers.
-On the topic of a Journey movie....
Neal think it could be a massive feature film or Netflix series. Says he is having alot of talks with heavyweight people he has made amends with and something could come of it by 2027.
- Neal reiterated that he didn't have to twist Arnels arm and that he wanted to do these additional dates.
He says (paraphrase) "it's so funny that I'm always getting blamed. Neals making Arnel do this, Neal's doing this, doing that...Arnel looked at the dates and said yes, i want to do this.....People just like to take shots at me. My skin is tough tho bro."
-Neal admits he has been using AI to assist with writing legal letters and contracts. He prefers it to attorneys who lies and 'rob you blind.'
- Eddie and Neal close out talking about Nocturne revolutionizing video screens / projection up on the stage. Neal says Elvis did it before Journey.
