Stagecoach 2026 was canceled due to weather so this could be a makeup date.

OR.....

It could be Hugo's big debut.

What I am reading is that Journey and someone else were invited back because they had to cancel in 2026. But, this is not a rescheduled event or concert. It will be a new concert and a new event.

How is this being advertised? I know the article says this is a continuation of the current tour. But, is it? What does Journey say? I think Jonathan and Arnel would not be there. Was there not an article where Jonathan was pretty insistent that 2026 was his last year of touring?

The most recent official word from the band was an Associated Press article that came out August 18th promoting the second leg of the Final tour. In it, Cain and Schon said the following:

The end point — Nov. 28 at the Chase Center — looms, but the band isn’t sure what that night will include. “It’ll be fitting to end there for sure,” says Cain. “Who knows who’s going to show up? I don’t know. There might be a reunion of sorts, I hope.”

After that, the band isn’t certain. “The future kind of remains up in the air really,” says Cain. Schon agrees but isn’t ready to make predictions.

“I’m not nearly done with what I want to do,” he says. “I think there’s many great opportunities in the future. Whether or not it’s with everybody that’s here right now, I’m not certain.”

Some fans have interpreted Cain's "up in the air" quote to mean he is changing his mind about exiting. Throw in the Hugo appearance (Cain's friend), and Andrew's bombshell of them re-signing with real management, (something Cain has been pushing for), and the theory seems plausible.

But nobody knows anything.

I really think Stagecoach 2027 isjust a make-up date at this point.

Some the tour advertising has changed to refer to this leg ‘forty dates of the fall leg’ as opposed the the ‘final leg’…

I noticed Neal saying that. He thanked LA for a great kickoff to "the last 40 shows of this fall tour" or something like that.

Lately, Cain has been referring to the tour as "nights of Journey legacy."

Almost as if he is testing the term "Journey Legacy" - could their next iteration (band, tour, album, whatever) be called that?

OR, this could all be meaningless.

I wonder if "Neal Schon's Journey" is in contention for a name now that Cain might be stepping away and playing ball with Neal over the future? That name is simple and direct, plus it shows who is running the show now. At this point I feel most people that even remotely care about Journey know who Neal is second only to Perry, so recognition shouldn't be too hard.

It’s funny, for al the name recognition Neal wants, he seems to shy away from putting his name on anything, really. Why didn’t he try it instead of JTT? Why doesn’t he consider the NSB or the Neal Schon Band so he can feature his entire career?

Probably because no one outside of Journey fans knows his music outside of Journey. Yes he was in Santana, but when you think of Santana you’re thinking Carlos Santana. Nothing else really had a dent commercially except Bad English.

To be fair, Neal's name was prominently displayed on all the artwork for the releases of JTT, but no one ever referred to it as such.

Could it simply be that they're phasing Arnel out slowly but gradually, with the others taking over more of the vocals on this tour, finally announcing Hugo as their new singer before the start of the 2027 dates? With Jon still aboard and Journey on the ticket stub?

Featuring more singers on this tour have only worked to their benefit so they can still continue with that.

Must be hard to give up playing the arenas, which they're still doing such good business in.

The switch to arenas happened when they left Live Nation (which had them in sheds etc.).

If I had to predict, and that's a dangerous thing to do with these guys, I'd say this is about as close to what could happen. Maybe Cain does still leave but keeps a role in management with Azoff, and Jason moves to primary keyboardist. But the more I think about the Hugo move, it just looks like it was an audition more than just having a "friend" show up and sing. Luckily, I'm not putting any money on any of it.

I thought Pedro of Voyage was in his 30's, he's drinking from some kind of fountain of youth! He's 55, only eight years younger than Hugo.
