Go on ahead.
Yuck it up.
Maybe you haven't heard, but this lineup has been together longer than any other formation of the band in the group's entire history. Doesn't seem like this Journey is ending any time soon. The naysayers said this lineup would flop upon it's very first tour. And here, 7 years later they are still succesfully touring around the country.
"Keeping this up" will only lead to many more years of fantastic shows and some very appeased fans.

But than on a score from one to ten, how would we rate this lineup? Or should I say, 01 to 10.?

NEW and Different?

Last time I checked, the single on the Armageddon soundtrack ,"Remember Me", was new and different.
The "Arrival" album featured some 15 new and different songs.
Also, all the tracks on the Red 13 EP were new and different.
The many left over unused Arrival cuts (Have a good time, Sea of Emotions, Lose myself in you etc) which were later placed on different musician's solo albums (Mickey Thomas, Jack Blades) were new and different.
Hearing Ross sing was new and different.
Seeing a mini-Santana set in concert was new and different.
The music the band is currently writing is new and different.

-But, by far, the most new and different (and incidentally wonderful) experience that this lineup has brought about, is now featuring a new and different singer who night after night genuinely enjoys his fans and reliably and continually indulges his inate passion for singing, never putting the band on hold for his own wacked out, mental problems or wait, sorry, make that "personal health matters".

The only new and different things reliably & consistently offered up by a Steve Perry fronted Journey are excuses and new ways of screwing the fans straight up the keister:
hips.
death.
heartache.
alienation.
.....his list goes on and on and on.

Journey "Goes to the well" by touring with GH's.

Perry "Goes to the well" by releasing video up to thirty years old on DVD.

The water is from the same well...The only difference is the person asking you to drink it. Only a hypocrit would swallow one down like Mother's Milk and spit the other out like it was poison.

Liar.
Where has that been said about Journey anywhere other than on a cyber forum permeated by overly capitous Perrynutzos much like this one? Give me an official publication. I defy you, too.

Yep, time is running out.
Running out much like it was purported to be in 99, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004.
Every year you assert that Neal and the guys take another climacteric step towards the inevitable career guillotine.
And every year you are repeatedly proven WRONG.

The TRUTH is, last summer's Main Event tour was a huge success for all those involved. According to Jon Cain, this year's tour has been succesful, as well. While you are right, many music acts haven't been touring to their full patronal potentiality of late, Jon acknowledges this and stated while several acts have had poor ticket sales this year, he claims that Journey has done very nicely for themselves.

Even Deen said he foresees himself playing with the band for another ten years.

So, just what the hell are you talking about?
