Very cool, and even more cool if it truly was 1989, especially from 1988-1991 there was little to know presence of Steve in the media.
Wasn't 89 also the year Against the Wall supposedly was recorded?
(Even though Perry said it was 1984.)

Actually on CD jackets Perry said it was January 1988 when he went back into the studio and started on Against the Wall. AND 89 was the year he went onstage and sang his HEART out and lit up the mic with Bon Jovi for 2 songs!

So weird if it was Jan 1988, less than a year he quit Journey, when in the BTM interview he said he didnt listen to one note of music in two years.
Will have to dig up the interview where he said it was recorded in late 1984, which kinda makes sense cause its the same writers/musicians. Also makes sense it did not get released because he went back to Journey in 1985.

For as good as SP's memory is sometimes, me thinks it has small holes. In one audio Q&A posted on YOUTUBE, he didn't recall some duets he did (I must give the man credit though. Maybe he forgot at most 2.) And then in printed interviews, he also said that he waited until the 90s to do this solo album because he had nothing to say, but the truth showed up on the STREET TALK CD jacket AND Greatest Hits plus 5, when he said that he went back into the studio in January of 1988 to record AGAINST THE WALL. But the powers that be shelved it, and that started a great rift between him and Sony.
