General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

Now that Herman Cain's stock has been rising in the Republican presidential scrabble, he's drawing a clear line between himself and the other candidates when it comes to taxes.

Where his fellow GOP challengers are content to tinker with the current convoluted tax code, Cain says he is the only one who wants to junk the current system altogether and come up with a simpler way that everyone can understand.

It's all part of his 9-9-9 proposal, which he discussed on CNBC.

"Their plans or ideas all pivot off the existing tax code," the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza said in an interview Wednesday. "My plan is the only one that throws out the tax code and is a fresh presentation of how we raise revenue on an expanded base."

Cain has unexpectedly become one of the Republican leaders in the crowded field. Entering the race as a virtual unknown, Cain shocked the race by winning last month's Florida straw poll. Recent surveys from Gallup and others have him in a virtual dead-heat with Mitt Romney, the frontrunning former Massachusetts governor.

At its core, the Cain plan slaps a 9 percent flat tax — no loopholes, no exceptions — on businesses, individuals and sales.

While the exact figures have yet to be released, the candidate said he has had his plan scored by an analytical firm and he will show that it generates more revenue while stimulating growth for the ailing U.S. economy.

"No, it is not regressive," he said. "First of all, by putting it on sales tax — that third '9' — we are going to pick up revenue that we are not getting today. That helps to lower the rate for everybody including the people that are making the least amount of money."

Those people at the bottom end of the wage scale have been generating big headlines lately through the Occupy Wall Street protests that have spread across the country.

Cain has been mostly dismissive of the movement, which he said is misguided regarding the target of its wrath.

"One of the biggest criticisms that I have is that they're protesting against the wrong people. The White House has produced these failed economic policies," he said. "Many of them have bought into this class warfare theme hook, line and sinker and I don't know if we are going to get them back."

Those who feel disenfranchised by the current state of affairs won't feel the same if he is elected and 9-9-9 is passed, he said.

"The American public understands it. They have picked up on the idea," Cain said. "They love the idea of throwing out the current tax code because they all have been abused by the current tax code and abused by the bureaucrats for decades."

Man, these "Occupy Wall Street" folks are shameless scum. Admitting defeat in the easiest country in the world to make it??? Just give them guns and let them blow their brains out ... or do it for them. On the far right you have Fred Phelps and his disgusting herd of trash, and on the far left you have these prideless fucking losers. Let's draw the country a little closer together and mow these bastards down. I can't imagine, even at gunpoint, standing outside of Wall Street and screaming to the entire world that I'm a worthless fucking loser! Yet these jackoffs have no problem doing just that! Unreal.

So, Iran is "indefinitely" postponing its efforts to launch a monkey into space by 2016. A pity, that.

In other news, Iranian scientists announced another strategic and exciting leap in technology. Still in its early development phases, this discovery called "toilet paper" shows potential for improving personal cleanliness and hygiene throughout the country. Additionally, the recent introduction of the "shower," while still in its conceptual element, provides hope Iran will once again assert itself as a global leader.

Might I suggest the start with their Mullahs and the President of the country instead of the Monkeys...it would make a great sitcom too: Mullah's In Space: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Friends!

I've always said you should give those convicted of violent offenses, rape, and pedophilia the choice between castration and permanent incarceration with only horsebread and water to consume, or...

Give them a permanent, massive "Born in the U.S.A." tattoo on their backs (shaving their back hair when necessary), and a "Fuck Allah and All Muslims and _____ (insert your desired country / drop zone here)" tattoo on the chest (allowing for the inevitable man-boobs, of course). Then, you give the convict a pair of pink Eurotrash speedos, $5, and sleathily parachute-drop him in the exact epicenter of Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, or any other fanatical Islamic state. Tell the bastard if he makes it back to the states alive, all charges will be dismissed.

It would save a shit load of money on prison costs, and I betcha it would reduce the crime rate significantly as a deterrent.

I think if you go back a couple five or six pages on here I said, don't be suprised if you see Gingrich's poll numbers rise to the top

Problem is he is not going to win NH and Iowa is full of holier than thou evangelicals who fornicate like bunnies behind the bushes at the local Sunday School picnic but then come out and condemn adultery. He wont win there because of that. Nevada wont happen because of Mormons voting for Romney. The first state he can win is Florida, but would the momentum be all gone there.

Now if Cain and Gingrich did a public deal RIGHT now that would be intresting. !

Newt is all talk. He just likes to hear himself speak, and try to sound like the smartest guy in the room. Most of his ideas are just that - impractical (or failed) ideas - and he knows it. Roll on Cain 2012.

The intricacies of Cain's 9-9-9 plan are just beginning to be understood.

It ends Medicare and Medicaid, and would slash 62% of all government revenue.

Once people catch onto this, he's history.

It' Romney's nomination. Mark it down.

Cain's idea is brilliant. Get the lower tier to start paying their fair share:

"For the 46% of Americans who did not pay income tax last year, the 9% tax would mean an automatic increase, said Roberton Williams, a senior fellow at the non-partisan Urban Institute."

And lower the absolutely preposterous, discriminatory, and woefully unfair rate that the wealthier earners pay:

Meanwhile, Williams said, wealthier Americans would get a tax cut.

"On the top end, 9% is a lot better deal than what people at the top end are paying," he said, adding that the Urban Institute estimates that those who make more than $1 million pay 18% in personal income taxes.

"Going to 9% is going to save them half; that's a nice savings," Williams said. "That's the income tax side: The rich will pay less; the poor will pay more."

Who can argue with 9-9-9? It's absolutely fair, does not discriminate against the wealthier earners and gets the lower earners to start forking over some of their dough, like the rest of the fucking working world!

What in the world makes you think that those who didn't pay any income tax last year , would pay it if the 9% becomes the new rate ?! They'll still can do the simple math 0% < 9%

Gingrich wasn't President of the USA when he fucked around and left his wifes, Clinton was, and he lied to a Grand jury about it. Newt was never obliged to answer those questions. If you believe in the law, then Clinton was guily of purjury.

In the Brilliance department I'll take Newt over Bill any day of the week. Yes, Newt fell for some global warming bullshit and did some legislation I wouldn't agree with, but hell they all do that. I think he's a pretty smart man and he knows DC better than anyone, which one could argue as a downside, but not me. Cain fits in perfectly here with Newt as VP.

You said you don't give a shit about his private life. You cared plenty about Obamas private life BEFORE he became the president ;) nice back paddling FT ;)
And his private life , much like you said about Clinton , reflects his character. Are you suggesting Newt will suddenly have a change of character once voted in ?! as usual you contradict your own beliefs when the table is turned . Nothing new when it comes to you ;)

They actually DO pay, but get an amount BACK equal to or greater than what they paid. In the end, they don't really pay anything. Cain's plan won't give them that money back. And that's the way it should be.

Garbage and misleading article, and here's why:

"As far as we can tell from the limited information Cain has provided, the plan he touts as a big tax cut would actually increase taxes on most Americans."

No shit! When 46% of people (most of which DO work) are paying $0, paying *anything* is going to be a raise! Welcome to the fucking world that the rest of us live in!

The revenues issue, for one.

Killing Medicare is also, what, somewhat questionable?
