I know, I know, I should slow down - I'm having way too much fun.

There's still time to join me in a drink ya know.

Got this in an e-mail and I found it to be a striking resemblance of Sir Wombat.

Unfortunately, the lost to the Spankees for the first time this year. Got good pitching again, for the most part, but the offense didn't show up today.

Nice to see ya here pc, I however have nothing to say
on Baseball so I'll tell ya that the Ottawa Senators got slayed
in overtime last night....3-2 New Jersey Devils, the series
is now tied at one a piece......sigh

Beautiful Sunny day here and soon I'm gonna go into it.
Thinking about hoping on my bike and grabbing me a 6 pack
while the kids are playing at the neighbours.....Hmmmmmm.
I do foresee a problem though, 6 pack will only leave me wanting more
later when the kids go to bed, don't know if I can carry a half case
on me bike.
What to do, what to do............

relief pitcher for the STL Cardinals, killed in a car crash last night/this morning. The only saving grace is it was instantaneous, from what the police believe.

That's what it sounds like. I really feel bad for the whole Cardinals organization. The media already mentioned how it's been less than 5 years since DK was found in his hotel room. That was tough here, too, because he had been such a part of the Astros, too. I think the whole organization needs serenity for their souls tonight.

it puts things into perspective. baseball as fun and great as it is, just isn't as important as someone's life is.

I'm the first to say we shouldn't look to athletes to be our heros, but I'm also the first to say that we are only human, and feel for those who entertain us, when something like this happens.

Ironic that both deaths of Cards players happened while playing weekend series' against the Cubs. DK's death still haunts the fans of the Cardinals. And now we have this to "deal with". It's a shame he wasn't able to savor the WS win a bit longer than 6 months.

Amen. I'm sure you've seen the small tribute to DK at Minute Maid Park (it usually shows up in shots of left field). It is a small, round white plaque with "DK". It is next to the '97 Central Division Champion banner. Every time I go, I think about him.

This is bullshit. I miss Sunday Night Baseball because this dude plowed into a tow truck...that was fuckin' parked? I'm sad he died, but why couldn't he have died tomorrow? Just another reason for me to hate the Cardinals.
