And if he did that, you'd be on here bitching that it is a sweetheart deal to greedy, fat, teachers unions. Shut the fuck up. Your concern for America's children and the generations of tomorrow is bullshit.

Yea, too bad the plan to give free phones to low income people started under your boy, George Dubya (compassionate conservatism in action yet again!)
I'm sure Romney will overturn it on his first day in office. Obamacare too!

Sure I do. We had an eight trillion dollar housing bubble burst, used a 800 million dollar stimulus (1/3 of which was tax breaks) to make up the difference. You do the math.
If you think lowering marginal tax rates, when they are at historic lows, and gutting regulations (on random things like mountain top mining and risky derivatives) will usher in an economic bonanza, go vote Romney. But to anyone paying attention, this is the same stale old GOP wine in a shiny brand new bottle.

At Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond, a teacher is under investigation after she reportedly ordered a student to take off a shirt supporting Mitt Romney. The teacher allegedly compared the shirt to a Ku Klux Klan sheet and threatened to use a marker to cross out Romney’s name on the shirt. When the 16-year-old student refused to take off the shirt, she was thrown out of class.

Philadelphia School District spokesman, Fernando Gallard, confirmed that “a teacher made some comments to a student wearing a Romney t-shirt in their classroom.” “The comments were of a political nature, and also of a personal nature,” he said. “We are looking into the comments, and the conduct of the teacher.” The teacher allegedly told the girl that the high school was a “Democratic school”. Gallard stated that the student was within her rights to wear the shirt and that it did not violate the school’s dress code policy in any way. The teacher has been “switched” in order “to allow the student to feel comfortable to come to the class.” Gallard admitted that the student was expressing her freedom of speech, and was not in violation of any school or district policy.”

The incident became public when the student’s father called a local radio station. Richard Pawlucy told IQ 106.9 what happened.

“Are you seriously wearing a Romney shirt — and then she told her to get out,” Pawlucy retold what happened. “My daughter took it as a joke. But the teacher left the room and called other teachers and students into her classroom.” She said the teacher pointed at his daughter and said, “Look at this girl — wearing a Romney shirt.” His daughter refused to leave the classroom. The teacher then compared the shirt to KKK clothing and told her, “This is a Democratic school.” Pawlucy said, “I never knew a school had a party affiliation.”

Pawlucy’s daughter hid in the bathroom until the teacher left, but then other students began mocking her.

“Her classmates were telling her –‘how can you do this to our teacher?’” Pawlucy said. “Why don’t you like Obama? We all like Obama – why don’t you like Obama?”

Mitt Romney’s campaign has yet to comment regarding the incident.

Not scary. Ever hear of the biggest recession in history? At least FDR had the benefit of a domestic manufacturing base and weak international competition. Vote for Mitt and let him enact his revenue-bleeding "tax reform", and start a ground war with Iran, and you will see this country dissolved by 2014. Of course, as the cities burn, FF will be in overdrive posting articles on here pointing the finger at Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, and Jimmy Carter. What a clueless joker. If only there was a way to quarantine republicans from the rest of thinking America. Maybe it's time those FEMA camps unlocked the gate and put up a neon 'open for business' sign? When Bush came to office, Democrats comprised and enabled him to get his tax cuts through. With Obama, the GOP has stymied this administration at every turn to the point of downgrading our credit, thwarting economic demand, and even objecting to their own conservative proposals. What a bunch of sorry partisan assholes.

It would be nice if OBAMA said this.

The truth is that if Romney does win, it validates this strategy...putting your, and your parties needs, above the countries will win the Presidency. THAT is a scary future.

The Republicans need to be punished for their uncompromising attitude. But, Obama is not even making it an issue. Obama should call that out...and call it selfish and unpatriotic - because that is exactly what it is, and how Republicans have acted for the past four years, or more.

Obama also needs to make this flip-flopping BS of Romney's an issue. When Romney said he wasn't for a tax cut for the wealthy, I think that completely threw Obama off. Years of saying he was for a tax cut and now he says he's not? That's just complete BS. Obama needs a "there you go again" diatribe prepared to bring Romney's political approach of saying anything the people want to hear, even if he contradicts himself, to get elected. He needs to force specifics out of him...and say it doesn't add up, and "a few weeks ago you said ______ and now you are saying _____. There you go again. If you can't decide on what you believe while you are running for President, nobody can know what you are going to do after you are elected. I have been very specific in my plans, and they are...."

IMO, Obama was trying to be like Clinton was at the convention - because it got such high praise. Trying to not attack, but be full of specifics and statistics. But, that doesn't matter when your opponent looks at focus groups and trends to determine what he believes in and then markets himself like a product in Wal-Mart...stating opinion and policy that people want to hear....rather then having any beliefs he really stands for.

Changes in monetary policy and slight Keynesian measures (be it either in the form of a tax rebates or infrastructure spending) have been the law of the land for nearly a hundred years. Yes, it works. Yes, there used to be some ideological consensus (Milton Friedman wouldn't even deign to shit on you economically illiterate Tea Party knucklefucks). And yes, what the current GOP is advocating (austerity for everyone! Yay!) will result in making a bad situation much worse.

Bullshit.

When the Republicans point to Obamacare not receiving a single Republican vote, or why the economy is so slow in recovering, or why unemployment is so slow to improve, or countless other things....and why OBAMA hasn't done anything...Well, he HAS tried - but Republicans refuse to even come to the table with any constructive ideas...they are ONLY destructive in tearing Obama down and not letting ANYTHING get through congress for him to sign.

So, it IS an issue - and the Republicans make it one. Obama is just pussy enough to not go too negative in the campaign and call them on it.

Republicans refused to compromise on health care despite Obama's good faith effort to bring them to the table.
Republicans block bill after bill Obama has proposed to help jobs and the economy.
Republicans are the unpatriotic selfish assholes who put themselves and their party above the needs of the country.

THAT is the truth and should be made a real issue in this election.

There’s still a number of hours before tonight’s VP debate. You could try and convey that idea to Biden and being the rambling retard that he is, he’d run with your concept tonight during the debate.

Obviously Obama's running with the Sesame Street Big Bird deal since to him it has more substance to it than your idea does.

You are right Keynesian measures have been the law of the land since Herbert Hoover embarked in a failed Keynesian stimulus program in 1929 which helped create the great depression. Book-ending the other end of that 83 year period is another great Keynesian failure created by the joint efforts of Greenspan, Bernanke, Bush and Obama. (heading for a lost decade here). That 800 million dollar bubble you talk about - that was due to the reckless ever expansionary monetary policy that must necessarily accompany Keynesian fiscal policies, the ill effects of which were made worse by runaway domestic and military spending of Bush and the mal and mis investment of government funds though Obama's failed stimulus.

And in the intervening years we have had constant boom and bust not one bit less intense than the business cycles of the 120 years that preceded the "Keynesian era" . Some success.

The fact is the "Big Bird" idea is correct. Cutting public television from the budget does virtually NOTHING to help.

If he wants to get real, start talking about raising taxes, cutting social programs, and cutting the military budget.

Since Romney's plan is to cut taxes and RAISE military spending, he has absolutely no intention of balancing the budget and is just trying to say what he thinks people want to hear.

See what Gin and Tonic Sky said above. Says it better than I could. Besides, just because it's "been the law of the land for nearly a hundred years" doesn't exactly make a great argument, now does it? That's like saying that sodomy laws are OK because they've been around for forever. Come on, it's going to take a stronger game than that. Talk about "knucklefucks".

Reducing spending by cutting programs may be tough for everyone in the short run but it's the only way to successfully get from point A to point B and be able to have a decent economy in the long run.

a 5 Trillion dollar Fed expansion is not "mild"...

...even Keynes didn't advocate the type of spending we've seen, deficits or otherwise - and he also advocated a "rainy day fund", with real reserves... which as we all know is nonexistent.. and the Fed's ability to expand its balance sheet (out of thin air) is not what Keynes was referring to..

One need only look at monetary velocity to see that all the stimulus in the world has not worked.. velocity is deader than Steve Perry's career... without velocity there is no credit creation, no bank multiplier effect.. effectively stagnant or receding growth..

Hey FakeFinder, I thought you were gonna report this to us some time today ;)
Romney didnt even have the decency to ask for permission from the mother of the Navy SEAL. :?

Mom of former Navy SEAL killed in Libya asks Romney to stop talking about her son

SIDNEY, Ohio - The mother of a former Navy SEAL killed in Libya has called on Mitt Romney to stop talking about her son during his political campaign.

A spokesman for the Republican presidential candidate says Romney will respect her wishes.

Romney in recent days has been telling voters of chance encounter with the former SEAL, Glen Doherty, at a Christmas party two or three years ago. Doherty was among four Americans killed in the attacks in Benghazi.

Romney told the story of his chance encounter with Doherty at least twice in the last two days as part of a larger push to show a more personal side and criticize President Barack Obama's foreign policy. Romney, like other Republicans, have repeatedly raised questions about the president's handling of the Sept. 11 attack.

Indeed, the Benghazi terrorist strike that left U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens dead was a centerpiece of Romney's high-profile foreign policy speech at the Virginia Military Institute earlier in the week.

On Wednesday, Doherty's mother, Barbara Doherty, told Boston television station WHDH that she wanted Romney to stop citing her son.

"I don't trust Romney. He shouldn't make my son's death part of his political agenda. It's wrong to use these brave young men, who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama," Barbara Doherty said.

Romney spokesman Rick Gorka said: "Gov. Romney was inspired by the memory of meeting Glen Doherty and shared his story and that memory, but we respect the wishes of Mrs. Doherty."

Romney told the Doherty story at his first stop in Ohio on Wednesday, but did not at his next two public appearances.

Sounds like a decent man to me. YMMV.

Stopping after the moms tells him to stop doesn't make him a decent man. He would've been a decent man if he would've asked the Nave SEALs family for their permission to include him in his political campaign speeches. FU ;)

Yes, yes it does.

Unless he already knew that a particular person's family didn't want them to use that story, then there's no problem at all with it. I tell people stories of things that've happened to me involving people and I'm never going to ask permission from them for that.

He comes across as a cocky huckster. He seems very defensive and acts like the debate is a joke. Almost as if he's an arrogant used car salesman.

This is turning out to be pretty entertaining. Biden is coming across much better than I'd anticipated (though he could cut down on the smiling and laughing a tad, I think he's slightly overcompensating for Obama's lackluster demeanor.) Ryan is underwhelming, to say the least.

Biden is kicking Ryan's ass all over the place and you know it. You'd never admit it, but you know it.

It's hard to tell because SloJoe won't let Ryan speak. Ryan's debating Biden and the Moderator.

But when Romney was doing it , you thought it was cool. ;)

Joe's got his smooth on. Ryan looks nervous and freaking thirsty. But I agree, Joe does interrupt too much.

I give you that one. I did. But Mitt wasn't being an asshole, Biden is an ass. He will not get good reviews for this performance.

Like Romney's smirk is any more endearing? Please.
The old geezer definitely won this debate. I think that Biden and Romney should abandon the dead weight on their tickets and set aside ideological differences to form the world's very first supervillain club.
