Biden flat out lied about the Terrorist acts in Libya, when what really happened has been agreed on way before this debate, but yet the administration tried to cover up or didn't call it for what it was. What else would they cover up?

Early results indicate that Ryan won the debate. Biden appealed to the 47% and probably lost 2% of those tonight.

Unless he already knew that a particular person's family didn't want them to use that story, then there's no problem at all with it. I tell people stories of things that've happened to me involving people and I'm never going to ask permission from them for that.

Times/Bay News 9/Herald exclusive Florida poll: Romney 51, Obama 44 (mason-dixon poll)

Romney has a two-point lead with Hispanics (46-44). Obama took 57 percent in 2008. A 13 point drop doesn’t bode well for his campaign, and this will most likely translate to a GOP Senate pick up as well.

My take on the debate? Ryan wasn't that great and missed a few good opportunities. Biden was OK when he was actually talking about the issues and not yelling, pointing indignantly at Raddatz, interrupting constantly, or laughing inappropriately while Ryan was speaking. Apparently, he didn't learn from Gore's fiasco in the first 2000 debate with Bush. He was actually worse than Gore.

Three other things that bothered me with Biden's performance:

1 - Saying Ryan and Romney are "betting against America". Excuse me, but isn't that a tried-and-true Republican tactic, speciously accusing the opposition of being unpatriotic? Ryan let it slide...He should've said something like "Excuse me, Mr. Vice President but we're all doing what we think is best for America. No one's being unpatriotic here and it's beneath someone of your position to accuse someone else of being unpatriotic simply for disagreeing."

2 - Flat-out lying that employees at the embassy in Benghazi had not requested additional security...There were reports prior to the recent testimony that they had previously requested additional security and now we have embassy personnel under oath saying they had requested this multiple times.

3 - Flat-out lying that Romney paid a lower EFFECTIVE tax rate than the average American...We now know that's not true. Romney paid a higher effective tax rate than the vast majority of Americans.

All-in-all, I'd call it a draw because of Biden's demeanor and Ryan's missed opportunities, not to mention Ryan looked really stiff and uncomfortable in the first portion of the debate. I've seen some polls saying Ryan won and others listing Biden as the victor. I think it probably won't effect the campaign much either way. If it does, the more likely scenario is it will negatively reflect on Obama's campaign solely because of Biden's actions.

Diehard libs got their red meat, so they're happy but I'm sort of stunned that Biden took the assholiness to the level he did. Unbelievable for someone showing that level of instability being that close to the Presidency.

CBS and MSNBC Journalists: Biden’s Libya Security Answer Could Mean Big Trouble for Obama

As the dust of Thursday’s vice presidential debate settles, one of the storylines of Friday morning is Joe Biden’s bold statement that the administration was not told that officials in Libya requested more security before an attack that led to the death of several Americans, including our ambassador. The fact-checkers have found that to be patently false. And now, even the mainstream media is predicting it could be a problem.

Now, this is how the Associated Press criticized Biden’s answer from its fact check from last night:


BIDEN: “Well, we weren’t told they wanted more security there. We did not know they wanted more security again. And by the way, at the time we were told exactly – we said exactly what the intelligence community told us that they knew. That was the assessment. And as the intelligence community changed their view, we made it clear they changed their view.”

RYAN: “There were requests for more security.”

THE FACTS: Ryan is right, judging by testimony from Obama administration officials at the hearing a day earlier.

Charlene R. Lamb, a deputy assistant secretary for diplomatic security, told lawmakers she refused requests for more security in Benghazi, saying the department wanted to train Libyans to protect the consulate. “Yes, sir, I said personally I would not support it,” she said.

Eric Nordstrom, who was the top security official in Libya earlier this year, testified he was criticized for seeking more security. He said conversations he had with people in Washington led him to believe that it was “abundantly clear we were not going to get resources until the aftermath of an incident. How thin does the ice have to get before someone falls through?”

He said his exasperation reached a point where he told a colleague that “for me the Taliban is on the inside of the building.”

This morning, both CBS‘s Jan Crawford and MSNBC’s Mark Halperin said this could spell trouble for the administration.

That lie by Biden in particular was the most blatant one in the debate. Bush's administration was incompetent and untruthful but they've got nothing on this current administration.

Hey Behshad, looks like your boy didn’t do too shabby in last night’s VP debate. Matter of fact, he did 100% better then what I was expecting. Obviously Biden’s the balls behind the penis….er president. It’s his experience that pulls a lot of weight I think. He’s able to say he was involved with “x, y, and z” while dealing with Reagan. Ryan lacks that type of experience which I think it hurts him more not having it. Matter of fact, Ryan was like 12 years old or around that when Biden was dealing with Reagan. What will be interesting however is if someone who was also in any of these meetings with Reagan comes forward as a witness and says "oh yeah, Biden was there and he was totally against what Reagan was doing during these meetings". That would be a blow towards Biden's interactions during these said "x, y and z" meetings with Reagan. The only thing I really didn’t care for in Biden’s performance was him constantly not allowing Ryan to finish his answers. Just as what Ryan was saying started to get interesting, for the better or worse, Biden had to interrupt him.

I didn’t care for that because I wanted to hear what Ryan had to say and then make my determination if he’s on the ball or not. As for what Biden was saying, he says this and that won’t work but I’d like for him to explain in detail as to why he has that opinion. What are his facts that back up his assumptions? He demands the republicans lay out all the details in their plans but he doesn’t lay out the reasons for why he doesn’t think things will work. Saying that “the numbers don’t add up” and “we’ve tried that before” is just throwing out seeds and hoping they take. How can Biden say a plan doesn't work if he's not been able to fully analyze the plan that he claims the Republican's haven't provided all the details to?

The last topic in regards to pro-life/pro-choice, I agree with what Biden had to say on that one more than what Ryan had to say, as I am pro-choice. As for what Biden says and Biden actually believes is two different things, and that goes back to his experience. He knows what to and not to say during such topics. Ryan on the other hand I believe was truthful in what he said about the topic, but due to his lack in experience, he’s not yet learned that some parts of your agenda need to be kept quite (I learned that from the Dems). The issue with what Ryan said, regardless that it's his true view on this topic, will leave a lot of people walking away from this debate wondering if their pro-choice decision will now be subject to change if Romney/Ryan win this election.

The thing about Ryan that I didn’t care for was his movements in body language when speaking. Maybe it’s just me but he seemed too jumpy and tense as he spoke at times. After the debate I was not surprised of the results from the polls. If Obama wins this upcoming election, he owes a huge chunk of it to Biden I would say. Now in what Biden had to say during the debate last night, in the next few days we will see how accurate those things are. Two more debates this month and we will see how things shape up for each side.
