I love Jim Rome. Dude is a straight shooter and doesn't back down from anyone. In fairness, his exchange with Jim Everett was a million years ago. He was in his twenties and I think his testosterone got the best of him. Believe it or not, most people in sports respect the hell out of the guy. He has some big names on his show every day.

The more I think this can't happen, and that the Steelers have to win a game they need badly in the wake of the New England debacle, the more I think: Who's going to block Richard Seymour and Tommy Kelly? I can't come up with an answer -- at least not an answer for 60 Pittsburgh offensive plays.

It looks like my prediction was a whole lot closer than Peter King's, eh? I guess I gave the Raiders too much credit for thinking that they would only lose by three TD's

I don't think the Steelers are a good as they looked yesterday or as bad as they looked last week. Then again the fact that thy gave up 163 yards in penalties and STILL won does say something...I will leave into the eye of the beholder to decide what that something is.

More than half of those penalties weren't even close to being legit. They called Ryan Clark for helmet to helmet when he didn't even go high on the wideout (hit him waist level) They called Ike Taylor numerous times for pass interference when it was clear Ike was just running with the WR with no contact. They called Woodley for roughing the passer for tapping the QB and another on James Harrison (a pick 6) for form tackling Campbell.

At one point, there were like 8 straight flags thrown and half of them were jaw-dropping and could have killed the Steelers against a team like Indy or even N.Y. There's no doubt the officials are singling out the Steelers with these penalties and what not and pretty much making a point against our team because it's a team like the Steelers that will suffer from now on playing the defense they play, which is hard hitting and phyical so there's no doubt the league is watching us more often than others.

That game was the most complete we've looked all season, even dating back to last year so it was good to see them actually arrive and beat a team they should beat-down in Heinz, which is NOT what we did last year in a collapse.

Wow...Jim Colony was right. The Steelers completely ass fuck the Raiders and all Steelers fans are doing is whining about penalties. This just in...The Steelers won the fucking game...in VERY convincing fashion. At least save the whining for a week like last week when they forgot to show up!

Most of the penalties came when we were crushing. It was just penalty after penalty and it gets to the point to where they should just let the mother fuckers play the game. That was one of the longest blow-out games I've watched. Seems like the game was stopped every 2-3 seconds with yellow flags and it just got tiring to watch.

Chilly is a good offensive mind. He will land on his feet somewhere. I see him going to the Queen City.

How long was Chilly's extension, anyway? He'll be getting paid handsomely regardless. Hard to feel bad for him.

Last November, Wilf -- pleased by the stability and the progress -- gave Childress a contract extension. According to an ESPN.com report on Nov. 19, the deal runs through 2013 but the final year is the team's option.

Surprised he lasted this long. What a disaster. You won't see a team in worse shape inside and out than the Vikings right now whether it be personal, locker room, or media and fan conflict.

Winning changes all that perspective. Shanahan is a Super Bowl winning H.O.F coach who has dealt with the ego's of the NFL before and run things his way, or no way. The Redskins have a SERIOUS management problem for years with over-spending, so Shanahan I think is handling the situation with Hayesworth nicely in a nut-shell, but the McNabb ordeal was poorly executed. Like I said, every team has some inside problems and the 'Skins have a serious shot at the playoffs. The Vikes on the other hand have started bad and gotten worse from week 1-on.

What cracks me up is their fans crying an whining about Seymour popping Rapist in the mouth.

If I watched my kid get right up in the grill of the biggest kid in the playground and talking shit, he better expect to get knocked on his ass or mix it up right there.

If your mouth signs that check, your ass bet be ready to cash it! :D

If Ben was mouthing of to Seymour then he should get popped...but he wasn't, he was trying to get his offense off the field and get the field goal unit on...that's the problem with it...and Seymour WILL be fine, and probably suspended a game at least.

While I don't disagree with you that Seymour will be fined and maybe even suspended, I don't think you or anyone else can say that Ben wasn't mouthing off. The only two people who know if anything was said would be Seymour and Roethlisberger. I will say that after watching the replay, I would be STUNNED if Ben didn't say something that pissed Seymour off. There really wouldn't be any other reason for Seymour to deck the guy. I watched Seymour play most of his career in New England and never once saw him deck a guy like that, so it's not like he has a history of acting like a thug.

Seymour said he didn't hear Ben say anything to him. He said he slammed him because he turned around and the guy was near his face so he reacted accordingly to defend himself.

I think you're missing the point. If you watch the video, it looks like Ben is going through Seymour and going over to his lineman, Romon Foster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFGLmKrO ... re=related

If you look at Ben's eyes when he gets hit, it doesn't even look like Ben is looking at Seymour so I can't POSSIBLY think what Ben could of said to be sucker punched. His body language doesn't even tell a story. Why would Ben go after Seymour? It was nothing but a sucker punch and I think Ben took the fall out of sheer surprised of being hit in the jaw and natural reaction is to hit ground. Trash talk is football 101, so for Seymour to deck Ben like that over talk (if he did say something) then that's pretty lame. Since trash talk comes with the territory, it leads me even more to believe that Seymour was just actin like a sour puss and lost his cool.

One of the Steelers lineman said it actually started between him and Seymour and Ben didn't say anything but came up on him after a score to celebrate with his lineman. Seymour didn't like that and his team getting socked, so he decked anyone who came up on him at that point. It was a low-class action by a professional IMHO, I see no reason to take physical action like that on the football field, esp at that level.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize that was Seymour's take on it. If that's the case, I'm not sure why he would have ever reacted the way he did. It really doesn't make sense and almost guarantees him a suspension.

The reason for Harrison getting fined for form tackling is because he's a "repeat offender" over someone who only form tackles once or twice or something. Didn't Richard Seymour get suspended years back for shoving somebody down after a play was over? Him socking Ben is nothing new and should list under the same category under "repeat offender." Goodell really has this league in a mess.

Seymour has some history as well.

Filed to ESPN: Never pull someone's hair. NFL fined Raiders DL Richard Seymour $7,500 for pulling Broncos OT Ryan Clady's hair last Sunday. OAKLAND -- The Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers now have something in common.

They both think Richard Seymour is a dirty player.

Seymour, in his third game with Oakland, was penalized 15 yards for pulling the hair of Denver star left tackle Ryan Clady. It happened at the end of a play. Seymour landed on top of Clady, whose hair extends past his helmet.

Seymour yanked it hard and Clady jumped up, angry. Seymour has said that it was intentional and "no accident."

San Diego center Nick Hardwick called out Seymour for being dirty after the AFC championship game in Jan. 2008 when Seymour was with New England.

Millen was right and Young was wrong. Young was talking like he KNEW what was going on in Vikings camp...he could only speculate. Millen was stating that OG was running the team...that was an epic MNF blast!

New England at Detroit - Perfect letdown opportunity for the Patriots with the Jets up next. I just don't see it happening after the Cleveland debacle. This is the Lions "Super Bowl". Because of that, I suspect that this game will be a whole lot closer than it really should be. Patriots by 10.

New Orleans at Dallas - The Saints are clearly the better team but may be due for a hiccup. I think Dallas finds a way to win this one by a FG.

Cincinnati at NY Jets - I've said it before and I'll say it again...The Bengals BLOW! Complete disaster of an NFL with zero leadership. Jets by two TD's.
