Goddamned Palmer makes bad reads/decisions. I wonder if Marvin has that SC Prick on a short leash? He has got to be benched. He just pissed away 3 sure points for what? A desperation end zone lob, that Ray Charles could have picked off? Man he sucks cock!

Jesus Christ, I really do believe the Bungles have a chance to win this game and picked them to win by 3 but their obvious delusion and under-hyped problem is by far Carson Palmer. He's continuing to prove why he's the most overrated QB in the game and has been for years. If he was on ANY other team, the dude would have been benched a long time ago.

Yeah, I don't think there is ANY reason for Favre to go on any farther. As soon as you think it can't get any more painful to watch, it DOES. There's still 6 games to go to witness one of thee worst QB performances in Favre's career just a year after posting one of his best. Favre will never be benched and there's only 6 games left for him to atleast retire (for good) maybe on a win streak. That's the only good side to the whole Favre situation, which is nothing short of a disaster.

Kitna has been really playing very well and is actually using the offensive weapons around him to the offense's favor (something Romo lacked.) But, of coarse, the landscape of the NFL changes when a team is 3-8.

I look at Tennessee of last season when they were 0-6 then made a late season run. I think teams, esp good teams like the Saints, tend to go against the grain against a team that has little to play for and finds themselves in a position to let up (up by 17 points.) The Cowboys barely have to play with pressure while the Saints had a lot riding. I've seen it time and time again, but if you look at that Williams fumble, the man was trying to put the game away and the Saints defender made a play that defines championship caliber squads on a quest for a championship.

I think that was more of a outstanding strip on the defense than it was a gag on Williams's part. We've seen the Saints win the Super Bowl last season off of plays like that so it was comin. They FORCE those turnovers.

That kick would of been good from 65 yards too! He got a hold of that but just pushed it left. Good game all around. Brees is still money on a day where there were 1,000 dropped pass's from his wideouts.

It was an absolutely great defensive play and the Saints capitalized on it in quick order. That's what good teams do. The Saints haven't shown greatness in every game, but they have flashes of it, often.

Yeah, you mean the guy who has thrown for almost 15 miles in his career? That guy? The guy who holds every meaningful record in NFL passing history? That guy? LOL, dude, your attempts to bring down OG are futile. I bet you OG goes off this weekend, and they win going away, especially now that Chilly is gone.

Old news Dean. See my above post from earlier. That's pretty much what I said about "The Old Turnover". I don't have to bring Brett Pussy Boy down. His play week after week this season has proven he doesn't need my help!

The seemingly irreparable relationship between Vince Young and coach Jeff Fisher won't have to be figured out until the offseason now that the quarterback will miss the rest of the year with a thumb injury.

Tennessee is just hoping that its season isn't unfixable as well.

After a tumultuous week that also included a cancer diagnosis for their offensive coordinator, the Titans will try to get back on track Sunday as quarterback Rusty Smith makes his first NFL start against the struggling Houston Texans.

A sixth-round draft pick this year out of Florida Atlantic, Smith threw nine passes in his first NFL appearance last week, completing three for 62 yards. He also had an interception.

"We've had changes in three of the last four games with Vince and Kerry," Fisher told the Titans' official website. "Now we've got another one. I'm excited for Rusty because Rusty knows what to do. Rusty understands the offense. There is going to be some growing pains with him a little bit, but ... I think Rusty will be successful."

Smith, who will try to get Randy Moss the ball after the Titans' newcomer was held without a catch against Washington, could have some success against a Houston pass defense that ranks last in the NFL. The Texans have given up a league-high 25 passing touchdowns while allowing 301.0 yards per game.

Houston had enough trouble slowing down reigning NFL rushing champion Chris Johnson last year. Johnson averaged 7.7 yards per carry and 174.0 yards per game as the teams split two meetings.

Despite a three-game losing streak and the Young mess, Tennessee still has a lot to play for. At 5-5, it's only one game behind Jacksonville and Indianapolis for the AFC South lead.

The Texans (4-6) remain in the hunt as well despite having lost their last four, with the last two coming in especially difficult fashion.

Houston lost 30-27 to the New York Jets last Sunday after Mark Sanchez threw a short touchdown pass with 10 seconds remaining. The Texans had scored 20 unanswered points to erase a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit.

The loss came a week after cornerback Glover Quin batted Jacksonville quarterback David Garrard's last-second heave into the waiting hands of Mike Thomas, which gave the Jaguars the winning touchdown in the Texans' 31-24 loss.

Owner Bob McNair weighed in Wednesday, calling the Texans "underperforming" but also expressing optimism.

"I think we're going to go out and win this game," McNair said. "If we win this game, then probably we'll be in the second place in the division, one game out.

"My message to the fans is, this team has not quit," he said. "They're still fighting, and they'll continue fighting. I think that you're going to see some very pleasant things happening in the future."

The late breakdown in Jacksonville led Houston coach Gary Kubiak to move defensive coordinator Frank Bush from the press box to the sidelines, but the Texans gave up 401 yards of offense to the Jets after allowing a season-worst 491 the previous week.

Houston ranks 31st in the NFL in yards allowed per game with 408.8, but Kubiak gave Bush, whom he hired in 2007, a vote of confidence.

"I believe in him," Kubiak said. "We played much better defense. There were a lot of good things that went on. I believe in the guy. We'll figure out a way to get it done."

The Texans' running game also has struggled the last two weeks, gaining 97 yards against the Jets and 81 versus the Jaguars. Prior to that, it was averaging 136.5 yards.

Arian Foster, who leads the NFL with 100.4 rushing yards per game, still had 84 yards and two touchdowns against the Jets, giving him eight TDs in his last five games.

Like the Titans, the Texans aren't giving up on the season, especially with three more division games.

I agree with most of your picks, but...I see The Human Turnover having a big game today and upsetting the Skins. I also think the Niners have a shot at the upset today. Other than that, I think you're spot on this week, kid! Didn't think we would agree on the Colts game, but I just can't pick against Rivers right now. Dude is a man among boys out there.

Hey John, no picks today for OG, but not colossal numbers either. Maybe that's the recipe for Minnesota- run the ball more, ball control offense, and not the shootout at the OK Corral with OG slinging the rock all over the yard?

Two questions-

1- How long til Trav rolls in here talking up the vaunted pittsburgh Steelers impressive win over the fucking Bills? They should have lost that goddamned game. Seriously, a dropped TD pass with no one around? Is it that hard to catch a fucking football?

2- How will Trav spin said victory? Will he go to the "We were looking ahead" card, or will he resort to the "We play down to our competition" card, or maybe, will he pull out a rarity and say that the Steelers "Just didn't have it today, but our overall football talent pulled us through.?" The Bills had multiple opportunities to beat the Steelers and not even go to OT....Man, this pisses me off.

As much as I'd like toagree with you - Jackson should have caught that ball, just like Boise st. should have won in Reg. yesterday....but I can't help thinking all that doesn't matter....YOU are the one spinning things. to use your own words, Dean:

I am not spinning anything. The douche dropped a gift wrapped touchdown. The difference between you and I are I am admitting defeat, while you somehow vow to protest a questionable "win."

Buffalo should have won that game rather easily. They however, did lose it. So much so as I would say Buffalo lost it more than Pittsburgh won it. Pittsburgh is not all that. Maybe the 5th best team in the AFC, or even the 6th; definitely not the best in their own division.

Here is my best Trav response:

Trav wrote: Matt, you make a good point, of coarse the Steelers and their fans are concerned, but we always have the mentality that the playoffs is when real gritty Steeler football shines. We get our injured O lineman back and Ben will get into a groove and we'll be fine. We had a slippery slope last year in the second half of the season, and we won't allow that to happen this year, mainly because we have Troy back and healthy. We of coarse know how to win the close games, as exemplified today in chilly Buffalo, which is a hard place to play and win. We won that game, and we'll take it, but of coarse we need to block better and execute the offense better. We'll be ok.

And John from Boston's response:
Enigma wrote: Hey teenager, pull your head out of your ass! To barely beat the Bills whether it be in Buffalo or in Shitsburgh, is nothing to crow about! Your offense is pathetic, and the Rapist better start finding some receivers down the field, or you won't even make the playoffs. Roethlisberger is a douche!

Eh...momentum is everything. People discounted the Pats after they got thrashed by Cleveland, and now they're basically one win against the Jets away from winning their division and getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Steelers' D is enough to scare anyone and hence, win any game.

And don't count out the Colts yet. If they win tonight, they could easily peel off 5 in a row to close the season.

I don't think anyone at any point this year really considered the Steelers to be anything but a 1-2 win team in the playoffs. They're just not that good and their defense is terribly overrated. A successful season for them will be winning 2 playoffs games. But I don't see that happening.

I have been staying in Buffalo on and off for almost 2 months and Stevie Johnson is an excellent receiver. But, man, what a shit game today. :?

Damn, I couldn't even watch the game and everyone is on my ass, haha. Bare with me, I just played a helluva football game and I'm not all quite there.

Anyhow, I walked in with about 1:00 left and wasn't all that too surprised. The Steelers are pretty much built for those close games but I was sweating because I've seen this story before for pretty much my whole life watching the Steelers win close games so I held on and expected them to pull it out. Should have lost on that long ball, but I guess that's the difference between a team like the Steelers and Bills. Got lucky and I'm concerned because I agree, the Steelers aren't all that but we will see what we're made of next week in Baltimore. A win is a win I suppose. Other than that, I don't know much of what happened until I watch it. I heard Troy came up with an absolute HUGE turnover. The one thing that sticks out is that Buffalo is a team that likes to go downfield and has been scoring major points, so to hold a team to 16 with a versatile offense, esp since we are vulnerable against the pass sticks out. It's our offense that's lousy.
