To my understanding dude, the Eagles, Falcons and Saints play in the NFC. I never ONCE said that Pittsburgh (the Pats beat them already 39-26 and it wasn't even that close) is the only team that can take down the Pats. Within my thread above, how in the fuck did you grasp at that?! Like I said, the Patriots HUMILIATED the Jets defense, the Steelers defense, and are in the process of with putting their hand up Chicago's sphincter. I just said that everyone needs to sit down and the AFC (the Steelers are in the AFC) needs to pray that a team in the playoffs could atleast CHALLENGE New England. Please read before you reply directly from my post.

Please don't insult my intelligence saying what conference Philadelphia, Atlanta and New Orleans play in. I KNOW that, BUT, to my knowledge, doesn't the AFC champ have to play the NFC champ for the Super Bowl? I believe a few years ago, the Pats were "unbeatable" too, and they lost to the NY Giants. Yeah I know, there was a holding call, right S2M? Anyway, the NFC is a stronger conference this year, and while the Pats can certainly score, they can also give upa shit ton of points too. All I am saying is that Cleveland got them, so they can lose to anybody. Annointing them Champs this early is fucking stupid.

As for "Pittsburgh," you always seem to work them in when suggesting a certain team can derail another. I hate to tell you this Trav, but the Steelers aren't as good as theit record indicates.

Is all the stuff like this that is the reasons bookies make a fortune!

All that matters is the W...it doesn't matter how you get there...as long as you get there.

Deano your slightly pathological hatred of all thing Pittsburgh is understandable given the Super Bowl loss your team took a few years back, and while I think you are right to a degree that record is always indicative of how truly good a team is, in the end the Steelers tend to play there best football in the playoffs.

All that being said...it doesn't look like ANYONE is stopping the Pats.

The Steelers offense is not exacly rolling, but their D is good...so maybe ala the 2000 Ravens they can make the big dance...but I wouldn't bet on it.

I DO NOT hate Pittsburgh at all. I would live there in a minute. I love the way the town is structured, the people, the work ethic, it is to my liking, very blue collar, democratic town. I actually like the Pens quite a bit. Can't wait til they play in front of 75 thousand on New Years Day at Heinz Field. Is that sold out? Should be with Ovechkin in town...hate that Russian cocksucker.

And you are right...The Steelers are what, 10-3? They deserve it... I DO hate them because of that Super Bowl with the Seahawks.

Interestingly enough, I think that even though Pittsburgh has looked quite shaky at times this season, I still think they're probably the second best team in the AFC. Even if the Jets beat them next week (and they better, if they don't want their season to be over), the Steelers are the only AFC team (in my opinion) who could challenge the Patriots in the playoffs, if they show up.

I disagree. I still think Baltimore is better than Pittsburgh and San Diego, if they get in, can definitely match up well with NE. As for the Jets winning at Heinz next week, forget that noise. They put a staggering 6 points today against that vaunted Miami Dolphins defense. Rex contemplated benching Sanchez today in the third qtr. They are in a tailspin for sure.

We know the AFC South champ is going to be one and done, be it JAX or IND. The Jets may not even make the post season. They are at the Stealers and at the Bears before finishing in Jersey against the Bills. And as you all know, nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills. The Chargers win out and the Jets lose 2 out of three, the Chargers make it regardless.

I know you hate the Steelers with the brightest of passion and would label the Steelers the 33rd best team in the league (yes, 33rd) but how so? The Steelers were one first down away in their first matchup from beating the Ravens with their 4th string quarterback at the helm and in the second game, the Steelers showed up that Baltimore Ravens defense with a fresh Ed Reed & the offense sealed the game with a touchdown Baltimore RARELY gives up. Flacco is 2-6 against the Steelers lifetime and those two wins came against Dennis Dixon ('09) and Charlie Batch ('10) under center. If there is ANY two teams in the league that are replica's and mirror images, it's the Steelers/Ravens teams but I'd give the edge to the Steelers since Roethlisberger TRUMPS Flacco and Polamalu slightly edges Ed Reed on the defensive side of the ball & that's not the fan talking, just personal opinion.

GOD the worst day of NFL for GB in awhile...it looked like the whole organization did not want to be there yesterday and were uninterested in playing the Lions at all... WOW... that was a HORRIBLE performance by my beloved Packers... from contenders to pretenders in just a few short weeks... and it would not surprise me to have the Packers lose the rest of their games this year finishing at 8-8... what a disapointment... ;(

the teams that rule right now in the NFL... the Steelers, Patriots, Falcons and the Saints (there still defending champs)... are coming on strong now and starting to gel... dont count em out...

Rodgers- out with concussion. They could conceivably finish BEHIND the Vikings.

The question of the day is...............will OG play tonight?

Believe it or not, the Vikes still have a shot at the post-season Wild Card, who sits at 5-7 right now. Baring a miracle and a 9-7 record, they may have a slim, puny sliver of hope. As for Favre, he announced that he likely can not go tonight and the streak will come to an end. But it's Favre, who believes a word that comes out of the dudes mouth. I hope they prepared Tavaris Jackson all week and are prepared to do so the rest of this season. Stick a fork in Favre.

You're welcome. :D My tv's in the shop, so I've been watching the games online this weekend. I watched one game last night that would stop and start and pause, it was kind of irritating, but it's smooth sailing tonight. ;)

Once Moss was gone, the offensive coordinator had to be more creative to deal with the extra defender that wouldn't be doubleteaming anymore. Looks like the schemes they are running now have found success.

Then there is this gem from yesterday. New York Jets Assistant coach trips a Miami player as he's running down the sidelines. I have no problem with any team in the NFL recording games, practices, team meals, etc. to get an edge, but when an opposing coach trips a player (who could have been severely injured), that crosses the line.

At first my jaw dropped because I didn't think a person or coach could stoop that low within the sidelines. I mean, I can MAYBE see a relentless coach who has major balls and is a nutcase atleast attempt it, but the conditioning coach? That dude should be sitting his ass behind the team and sippin on hot choch, not that close to the action. What a dickhead for even having the thought to stick his knee out to to derail a player running full speed down field. I'm glad he got suspended, the dude should know better not to make those disgusting acts when he's not even involved in anything but telling players to run.
