There's nothing pathetic about it. Anyone who don't like it best just go screw. When I lived away from Chicago, I followed my "home" team (Phoenix) and rooted for them, went to games and local player events, the whole nine.
I don't follow them much since because it's just hard to see games when you're not in the local market, but I still had my Coyotes decal in my window before I got rid of the car, and I have my jersey and everything. (and I would have kept the decal, too! but when I peeled it off, all I got was a clear window cling - the image was pretty much baked into the window) There's nothing wrong with being a fan of your "transplant" city team. Hell it was hard enough to be a Hawks fan IN Chicago before they started actually showing the games... so when I moved to a place where - *gasp* they show the games on TV! - it was easy to get hooked in.

Once my team is eliminated, I'm out.....I don't root, or watch anymore hockey. The ONLY exception is the SB. And i only watch that for the commercials, and to see how involved the officials are....![]()

Hey I was only joking![]()
. I'm a flyers fan- just in a bad mood because the flyers have goalies that couldn't succeed in a grade school game on a frozen pond and are completely useless!

Yeah, that's kind of how it's been. I've enjoyed it as a great way to see the Pens play. This was my first year of getting to a game and I loved it. One game I watched the Pens lose, the other I watched them win. Both games equally exciting for me. Their fans are passionate, yet not nasty, which makes it nice for me. And I really like to see the Bolts doing so well. First of all, nothing more boring than a hockey game where one team completely kills the other. It's great seeing two good teams go at it. And I don't want TB to go under, or how will I ever get to see any NHL games or my Pens play? Those are just the selfish reasons. There is also this part of me that wants to root for the hometown team, even though my heart is with my "first hometown" team the Pens. (well, Erie is my hometown, but you have the Sabres and the Pens...... the Pens it was!I stick to the western PA teams in sports. )

That's what I used to do! And I must say, it was a lot more affordable to go to a Coyotes game than here in Chicago with the Hawks, so any chance I could when the Hawks came out there, I got tix. Same thing, just with my home guys in a different color jersey. But I still adopted Phoenix as my alternate "home" team even though Chicago and the Hawks will always be my *home* no matter where I am. It's about the sport for me, since it's the only sport I'm way into.
