Big fucking deal. Lots of people's eyes water. Like the article you posted states "It's his preference" to look like a fucking tool. Nowhere in that article does it say that it's medically necessary for him to wear shades at midnight. Dude looks like a fucking jackass.

That's a shame. I really liked what Singleterry was doing in San Francisco when he first got there. I think he was the exact coach that the piss poor team needed. This is why teams fail. They only give a coach, who takes over a horrible team to begin with only 2 years to get to the Super Bowl. Granted, Singleterry and the 9'ers play in THEE worst division we've ever seen in the football era, but if this dude had more time to put his mark on the team as well as draft some of his players to build around, he could of poss been successful there.

Welcome to the NFL, haha. You give up on your team WAY too much. I never really lost faith in Green Bay. There is just SOMETHING about them. I still think they make a case for Dallas, but first, they MUST beat Chicago, who still has tons to play for.

I can't believe that I'm saying this but I think the best teams in the NFL this season are in the NFC. The NFC has three very strong teams, all three of whom could win it all with Atlanta, Philadelphia, and the Saints. The AFC has New England (very flawed defensively), Pittsburgh (not remotely good for a 2nd seed), and Kansas City who could upset both of them. Should be an interesting month of January coming up.

I agree with your KC statement. Noone is eager to run into the Chiefs IN the new Arrowhead Stadium. The 6th seeded team could end up playing @ KC on the road, followed by going to New England as well, which is a scary thought to open any form of playoff round. I'd rather face Baltimore or the Jets before I'd run into a Kansas City or even Jacksonville if they qualify. Noone should sleep on the Colts either. Honestly, this NFL is as wide open as I've ever seen it. I truly can't put a finger on one right now to say "There's the team that's going to win it." All fingers point to New England right now but I honestly think they can get scorched by Atlanta, Philly, Green Bay or New Orleans, who have the tools to put New England in their place. In the AFC there are upsets waiting to happen, but it'll be very hard to go into N.E and beat them.

What article did you read?? It doesn't say it's his preference? It's ok that you think he is a terrible coach, I agree with you, but Christ Almighty, the man has a legit reason to have the glasses on.

You forgot the probable #2 seed the Bears, who beat up the eagles pretty good, but got killed
against the patriots. I think we can compete well with atlanta or the saints. while we havent lost
a division game so far, i am not confident about the playoffs, we are starting to give up way
to many points, though the offense is improving. Atlanta will be top seed and they are awfully
tough at home.

NO ONE is going to "scorch" the Pats. I could see them losing a high-scoring affair to Indy or Pittsburgh at home, along the lines of 31-27 or something...same goes for Atlanta. But no team from this point on is going to hold them under 24 points.

I'm not picking against NE. I'm picking NE v. Atlanta in the SB. I'm not sold on Vick, and I'm not sold on the default SB champs. Ryan is better than Brees.

As far as the AFC goes - Indy is living on borrowed time. KC looks better than they are. Balty has no offense, and the defense isn't what it used to be. Pitt is jeckyll and hyde and I don't like the offense. NY backed into the playoffs.

As far as NE defense goes - look past the stats. Stats are for dummies. The eyeball test tells me this team has jelled since week 2. I'm not counting the loss at Cleveland because Hillis had a career game.....it happens some times...

Atlanta looked shitty tonight.

They certainly don't strike me as a team that would beat the Pats at this point, let alone by a large margin.

That was a pretty dumb statement for S2M to make. I love Ryan, I think he's going to be an elite QB in the league one day but right now he is nowhere NEAR elite status as to where Drew Brees is right now at the stage of his career. Brees had been through it all. Tested, beat adversity, found success, moved to another team and became elite. This is Ryan's third year, tons of room to prove & show what he's all about in the face of failure and how he responds to it if and when the time comes.

How awesome is Brees though? What a game. To over-come those two turnovers in that building with that crowd fired up and a place where Matt Ryan never loses and a lot at stake, that was a mighty impressive comeback and form of composure by Brees and his football team. New Orleans showed signs of a championship team all around last night.

That's the problem right now with New England & possibly for the NFL.

Yes, they are one of the most dominating teams in football right now, if not THEE dominating football team but I'll admit, I was fired up to watch an elite team vs elite team match up with New England whether it was New England versus Pittsburgh; New England versus N.Y Jets; New England versus Chicago etc but most of their prime-time games (including Thanksgiving) have been nothing but absolute blowouts to the point of bore and that's not what the football fans outside of Bellicheat* land wants to see week in and week out. If the playoffs comes to that and see Brady and crew do nothing but beat teams by 45 then it'll be a lousy playoff and many television sets will be turned off quickly.. or in New England games sake, 1st quarter quickly!

Instead of the potential blowout by New England, as a football fan I don't want to watch that. I'd rather watch a tight, thrilling football game, back and forth, defensive struggle that goes down to the blood of the nail. I can see many potential Championship rounds with that material that could lead to a helluva Super Bowl. New Orleans/Atlanta; Atlanta/Chicago; Philadelphia/New Orleans; Philadelphia/ Chicago; Green Bay/Chicago; Green Bay/Atlanta; Pittsburgh/Baltimore; Baltimore/New England; Pittsburgh/N.Y; Indy/N.E; etc.

Even though N.E is prob the best football team playing right now, lets hope for the fans sake that someone steps up and gives them a good game or else it'll be pretty lame tuning in seeing N.E do what they are doing right now.

My Week 17 Wish List:

I want Tom Brady to make the list of QBs who've thrown a TD pass in every game of a regular season.
Why it won't happen: The Pats already have the #1 seed with nothing more to play for; it'd be stupid to leave the starters in and risk injury. In addition, the Dolphins play the Pats tough every time. Tom will have maybe two attempts to get a TD pass, then the starters will rest.

I want a playoff year without a Manning of any kind.
Why? All the credit to Peyton for taking the Colts this far, but I'm tired of seeing him in the playoffs. In most years, he's one-and-done, and he can only take an injury-riddled team so far....Eli Manning, on the other hand, is a turnover machine. I would rather see Aaron Rodgers & the Packers in his place, because he's a hell of a lot better QB than Eli.
Why It Won't Happen: The matchups. I just don't see the Giants losing at the hands of the Redskins, let alone with the combination of the Packers and Bucs winning to keep them out....The Jaguars are without David Garrard, so they won't be able to take advantage of Houston's last-ranked pass defense...Easy W for the Texans. Colts play the lowly Titans today....The Colts could rest their starters like they do every year, and still cruise to a division title...The Mannings will make the postseason.

Not only do I want a team with a losing record make the playoffs (with a Seahawks win or a Rams tie,) but also to win a playoff game!
Why? I like parity in the postseason. A losing team winning a division would fuel the media fire as to weither or not a losing team should make the playoffs...winning a playoff game would shut them up and justify their playoff berth.
Why It Won't Happen: Seahawks are starting their backup Charlie Whitehurst, who makes JaMarcus Russell look like a superstar. If the Rams don't beat him, then they deserve to miss the playoffs. Either way, both teams will be one-and-done in the playoffs....If the NFL gets their way and they get an 18 week schedule, there's a good chance it will increase the number of divisional games, and losing teams making the playoffs will be a thing of the past.

The playoff system is garbage. I like the NBA/NHL way of seeding playoff teams, although I do not like the fact that divisional winners automatically get in, PLUS get to host a playoff game possibly against a wildcard team with a better record. In the case of the NFC West - probably a team with a better record by 3 games!

If I had my way - best 6 teams in each conference make playoffs....and if that means a division is left out - great. Learn how to play fucking football.

Luckily for all of us Travis, most NFL playoff games aren't blowouts. Sure, it could happen, but more often than not, it's a close game. There is no dominant team in the NFL this season, so the playoffs should be fun. Sure, the Patriots look dominant, but the truth of the matter is that they are playing flawlessly and they simply NEVER EVER EVER turn the ball over. Hell, the NFL all time record for fewest turnovers in a season is 13. The Patriots have 9, entering the final game of the season, which is an astonishing statistic (especially when you consider that Buffalo turned it over 7 times just last week)! If the Patriots keep playing this flawlessly, I don't see any team beating them. That said, it's football, so if they slip up and give a few away, the tide could turn in a hurry.

That may be all he needs. I would be stunned if Brady didn't play into the 3rd quarter. Belichick simply doesn't have a history of resting his players. Like he always says, "Football players play football". I think you'll see all the guys who are healthy out there and playing past halftime today.

Honestly, that is the only way this team is losing....seriously. I think the play calling has gotten better, although on Woodhead's fumble a few minutes ago - that was a horrible play call. The defense has matured since week 2. Sure they give up yardage. But they have a bend, don't break mentality...In the Cleveland game - it was the Peyton Hillis show. Since then it has been lights out.

I'm sure Travis, Dean, and John will say that anything can happen, and the playoffs are a different animal....and they're right. But I still think this team is unbeatable at this point....

The quality of the opposition is about to go up dramatically. The Pats will likely face Baltimore, a team I see destroying the Chiefs by at least 14 points. The Pats have never matched up well with those Baltimore thugs and murderers. Get past that game, and it's the Colts or the Steelers, either of which could EASILY defeat the Pats, even on the road.

I don't see any team scoring enough points to beat NE....Ravens beat a team W/O Wes Welker last year. This year is different. I still don't look at Flacco as an elite QB, and Balty's defense ain't all that anymore....

Though I am inclined to agree with you more or less...I don't think ANY team is unbeatable...anything and EVERYTHING can and usually does happen during the playoffs.

Don't write off anyone in the AFC...and don't write off anyone in the NFC other than the NFC West winner.
