Yes...and they were still a non-playoff team without Brady!

That's just dumb. They're still good without him, but not Super Bowl contenders. He's "insignificant" if your goal is to stay afloat in the regular season, but he's absolutely necessary to go deep into the playoffs, and his clutch passes and plays in the past mirror as much.

Last I checked, they were 3-1 without him this season and won a Super Bowl with the guy playing as bad as a QB has ever played in that game!

The offense ranked DEAD last in the league and the quarterbacks were averaging 100 yards passing a game. That's 4 games, no way that kind of production and winning would of kept up throughout the season putting up those kinds of numbers, especially how the defense wasn't anywhere near as hot as that first full month. As for the Super Bowl, Ben was 24 years old in XL, I'd cut the guy some slack since he was stellar in the playoffs leading into the game & pretty much redeemed himself in Super Bowl 43 and has another shot to prove his worth this Sunday.

You just did. Besides, everyone and their mother knew Brady was a lock for it anyhow while Polamalu battled it out with another SB contestant, Clay Matthews. And all I did was come in and show my pride of a Steeler winning it, not looking to defend it nor boast about it.

You and everyone else baited the subject right away into saying "other people deserve it as well" to come down on the parade, like you're so good at doing, hence why you're S2M and arguing took forth. That's what I love about the NFL Thread and why it's so entertaining, manipulators through and through. 8)

Trav, while I commend your team loyalty, you have got to be THEE biggest ballwasher on this board. Do the Steelers ever do anything wrong, bad. Do they ever get lucky?

A little story for you....

I have got to be the biggest Sox fan here. Although I don't live in Boston proper, per se...a family member had season tickets to Fenway and I've gone to over 1500 games from 1975-1988, 2003-present. As fanatic as i am about the team, I don't think I've EVER spoke, bragged, boasted, ballwashed a single player, or the team in general....Actually, that's not true. I've defended Pedro's Cy Young snub in '02, and posted a couple of avatars of Dustin Pedroia....

I remember the 7th game of the '03 ALCS between the Sox-Yanks....I was working 2nd shift at the group home. The kids were in bed, and the staff were watching the game. It was already quitting time and the Sox were up 5-2 in the top of the 8th, with Pedro on the mound with one out. I hopped in my car and turned on the radio. That's when the world got knocked off it's 23 1/2 degree axis. Pedro gives up the next 3 runs, Alan Embree comes in to mop up, then Wakefield gives up that game-winning gargantuan HR in the 10th on the FIRST PITCH! I called out for the next 2 days....And I'm telling you right now. To this day, I've never brought up, discussed or heard anyone of my friends speak of that game. Hell, when I did return to work I found out that a few others called out too....and wouldn't speak about it either. That was devastating. Because the Marlins were ripe for the taking in that WS.

Point is....I NEVER brag, boast, or otherwise carry on about a team's win....I may analyze a loss. But not a win. I'm not a ballwasher. You, sir, are....

Hmmmmm. Sounds like someone else's perspective on this board when it comes to EVERY Boston team!

You have bragged in boasted throughout most of this thread about how the Patriots were going to beat every team they played by about 50 points!

Wrong...I post a guessed outcome....like:

NE-38
NY-17

and it is more of a joke than anything....especially when I always use the same score....knucklehead...

Point is....I never come in after a win and start clamoring about how we destroyed so and so.....

I wouldn't know. I'm too distracted by your endless excuses after EVERY loss. While I don't disagree with you on Travis' fanboy attitude, I'm reasonably certain that you're not really much different. According to you, a team from Boston has never suffered a single legitimate loss in their entire history!

Yeah, I seem to recall a prediction of 51-17 Pats over the Jets. How'd that one turn out for ya Sean? I'd say you missed that one by about, oh, 45 points or so, and then, you were a no show here for 5 days. I believe you said you "Informed us Thusly."

Pot kettle black.

I think the Jets are going to put up a hell of a fight - I'm expecting it to come down to 7 points or less. However, if one team is going to blow out the other, it won't be New York.

I thought Welker's press conference was BRILLIANT.

If NE doesn't open up another can of whoop ass on the Jets, I'll quit watching football and start following soccer...
NE - 51
NY - 17

Aha! Here it is! S2M calling his shot. Unfortunately, dude pissed a dribbler back to the mound for an easy 1-3 put out. Nice effort though.

How's that MLS team up there in Boston doing?

Ownership has it's privelidges.

That's just total bullshit. I am WIDELY open to talking ANY 32 of NFL teams that anyone wants to talk about throughout the season and have discussed NFL football without even dropping a Pittsburgh feed. In ALL of the four loss's the Steelers suffered this year, I have picked AGAINST them and simply tell it like I see it (go back, it's there) from the Steelers QB problems, to the offensive line woes and to the special teams letdowns time and time again unlike you, who have ADMITTED to believing and that you, as a fan, go into EVERY game expecting N.E to win it and to my understanding picked every single fucking game this year for N.E to score in the upper 50's and when they didn't, you CLAIMED to leave the thread like a pulsating, wet vagina!

Look, most of the time when I go all Steelers crazy is when someone here wants to argue the fact and push the buttons, I simply never, ever produce fan-boyisms, no more than John or anyone has ever done when coming to the defense of his diehard for the Patriots and have provided solid and valuable facts behind the words that I type. I picked Pittsburgh to go 9-7 this season and an early exit in the NFL playoffs and held out optimism throughout the season, and into the Championship round. You my friend, like you proved TIME AND TIME AGAIN are a baiter and turn little single comments into an illogical piss and moan match, kind of like what you've just done with me but I find it kind of funny you calling me a ball washer that the only thing I do is come to the defense of retarded comments that people like you drop while you went onto CRY for 2 weeks after you couldn't accept your team (who NEVER, EVER lose's or EVER looks bad, and when they do it's play-calling, or the fucking ref's) not winning the football game, the one game you admittedly said you EVER expect to lose since you go into every game thinking you're going to win, regardless of any intangibles. That my friend, is a straight up ball-washer and fuckin phony when your team does lose and you leave a thread to go consult your bruised ego.
