NFL Week 6 Picks:
Falcons @ Eagles: The Falcons aren't as flashy and they aren't blowing out teams like they could and should have so far this season. Kevin Kolb is getting his 2nd start in a row and looked good last week. Everyone is so caught up on Vick's potential return that people are forgetting that it was Kolb the initial starter. The Eagles have a good team, Vick-less or not.
Eagles by 10.
Josuha Cribbs @ Steelers: Colt McCoy is getting his first NFL start against a well rested Steelers team, fired up for the return in of Ben Roethlisberger, in Heinz Field. Peyton Hillis is banged up for the Browns as well so it's going to be up to Joshua Cribbs to take over the whole entire game. This isn't last season and Pittsburgh remembers how embarrassed Cleveland made them. I'd be surprised if Cleve makes it to mid-field more than twice. I don't care if the Steelers are playing the '85 Bears, no way they lose this week.
Steelers by 24.
Seahawks @ Bears: The Bears are winning by defense. They won with Todd Collins throwing for 30 yards and 4 interceptions. They won't be so fortunate all season, and Pete Carrol is a good enough coach to make changes during the BYE. Plus, the 'Hawks have been playing solid defense under the new regime. I think Cutler coming off of a concussion could spell DOOM for the Bears.
Seahawks by 7.
Dolphins @ Packers: Miami's desperate and they are coming off of 2 division loss's. Green Bay hasn't been playing too well, and the injury bug has hurt them significantly. Still, Rodgers will play and Green Bay will have to follow last week's loss and beat an AFC opponent that's not use to playing in the atmosphere of Lambeau Field.
Packers by 13.
Lions @ Giants: I knew there was just something about the Giants. They started off very, very weak, but now they are finding their identity. They are playing fantastic defense and Eli and Hakeem Nicks sure do have a tight connection. Giants will be tough to play at home and could be the NFC's sleeper team. Lions could be in trouble coming off of an uncharacteristic like HUGE win.
Giants by 20.
Saints @ Bucs: All of a sudden, this game matters. Tempted to pick the Bucs as an upset, but when it comes down to it, the Champs out-weigh the Bucs in every phase of the talent-pull. Saints should get back on track, but remember it was the Bucs who beat the Saints late last season.
Saints by 8.
Chargers @ Rams: The Rams have been a pleasant surprise and aims to take their division, but how good are they really? The Chargers are pretenders right now but we are ALL waiting for them to explode off 12 straight wins.
Chargers by 17.
Chiefs @ Texans: The Chiefs are better than advertised and have a GREAT defense, but they will soon prove to the league that they are just impersonating to be winners in this league, atleast for this year. Matt Cassell is still Matt Cassell and the Texans are still out to prove. The Texans are in Chiefs territory as well, doing their best imitations of a good team. Both need to prove something because they are nothing but question marks at this point.
Texans by 10.
Ravens @ Patriots: Bill Bellichick and Tom Brady remember that thorough BEATDOWN the Ravens landed on them, in Foxboro, in the playoffs in front of their home fans. The Pats are the best team in the league with a chip on their shoulder, and they had an extra week to prepare. If Bellichick is as good of a coach everyone makes him out to be, he'll come up with a way to beat a highly flying, but yet, overrated Ravens team at this point.
Pats by 6.
Raiders @ 49'ers: I'm taking the 9'ers until they win their first game. Teams that are searchin for this first win are dangerous. Other than week 1, San Fran has been in every game. That HAS to breakthrough to some W's somehow, and the Raiders might be that opponent that gives it up.
9'ers by 10.
Jets @ Broncos:
UPSET- Kyle Orton has been phenomenal this season and Denver could have that offense that spreads the Jets out. The Jets are high above the radar and traveling to Mile High is no easy task. Jets are certainly beatable, but I can see Denver taking it to them to put points on the board to finally force Sanchez to do something coming from behind on the road.
Denver by 7.
Cowboys @ Vikings: Whoever wins this one here will propel that certain team into a re-birth. They both still got time to recover, and time is winding down. Their season starts/ends now. With all of this Favre talk and his injuries and what not, I don't see how they can fight off a VERY desperate Cowboys team, esp with that vaunted short week of travel from playing on Monday Night.
Dallas by 13.
Colts @ Redskins: The Redkins were my NFC team to land that final WC spot in the NFC, but the division is now open to them. The Colts could have very easily lost to the Chiefs and the Redskins play tough at home to the point to where it helps their style of defense with the crowd noise and what not. Manning will be Manning, but he just doesn't have a good team.
Redskins by 6.
Titans @ Jags: Very good matchup. Lately, these teams have been putting up points, esp the Jags, who may be underrated, but still remain inconsistent weekly. Garrard could throw for 4 TD's, or he could throw for 3 INT's. The Titans have a tough offense to match up against and their defense plays well too when the time presents itself.
Titans by 13.
I just can't wait to see what team comes out of nowhere and wins in a huge upset. Hard to pin-point, but it'll prob happen the way it's going thus far in the NFL.
