Contrary to what the bleeding hearts say, illegal immigration is a net drain on our economy, not a net gain. The argument that those people do the jobs Americans won't do is absolute bullshit. They don't all pick crops or clean hotel rooms. A large number of them work in the construction trades, or are mechanics. The unions took out a full page ad, calling out an auto dealer, whose new dealership was being built by scab labor, where a contractor hired a bunch of illegals to do the work. This happened several years ago, where I used to live. Those workers are off the books and the contractors don't pay into workman's comp for them. If they get hurt on the job, they are simply terminated and denied they ever existed. The workers know they are on their own going into it. Such people are undercutting prevailing scale wages and anyone affiliated with a union is not happy about it.
Anyone want to guess what Illegal immigrants cost the taxpayers per year? All these things are factors:
Under the table, not taxed wages
Anchor babies born in our hospitals, with no hope of collecting the medical bills
When children are involved, they do get forms of welfare, including section 8 housing, food stamps, medical and AFDC, which is aid payments for dependent children.
They get free after school care, so the parents can work.
Free in state college tuition
What about the violent gang members who should not be here, who rape and kill?
What about all the damage caused by people who shouldn't be here, due to car wrecks, with no license or insurance?
So, no, I do not support "bring us your problems and expect us to pay for it."
More Americans should be standing up against this. I think enough people have had enough, that it make Trump's message resonate with enough voters to put him in office. I've got family members who have been waiting for years to immigrate. Nobody should be able to skip the process and enter illegally.
