I'd bet it is hard explaining to a capitalist Country why you're trying to turn them socialist like Europe. You know they don't want what you're selling so it's just best to say Americans are too stupid to realize the good you are trying to do. Arrogant, condescending bastards.

No, it's hard to explain that people who spew the crap you just did are ignorant assholes who are too caught up in Republican rhetoric to even know what a socialist country really is...and to know that we are NOT a pure capitalist country and haven't been for a VERY long time. To become become pure capiticalist, both social security and medicaid/care would have to be repealed - and that alone would alienate the Republican party and conservatives from the majority of American voters.

Who failed are the movers and shakers behind our obscenely dumb news cycles that have turned "news" into just more stupid entertainment for an entertainment-besotted infantile country.

I just want to respond to this one bit.

To point the finger at everybody else and say they are to blame is WRONG.

Obama and his supporters 'failed' by not standing up and defending their positions as vehemently as those who were spewing forth the lies of Limbaugh and Beck. How many times do the Democrats need to learn the lesson that attacks need a quick and decisive response? How many times do they have to learn that people are stupid and if a lie is repeated enough times without an argument against it that people start believing it? How many times do they have to learn that when a true accomplishment has been made that it is not enough to cite it in one speech, but you need to repeat it over and over again until the public 'gets it'.

That is the real reason why the Democrats are losing...they are pussies who run from a real fight. So, they will lose the House this year because of it. Nothing will get done because the loony radical right Republicans have taken over that party and will have a huge number of votes in congress. So, I will expect a showdown in the same way that Clinton had with Newt. And, if Obama backs down and lets the Republicans win fights over the budget and such, then he will lose reelection. If he fights for the principals he was elected for, and explains it clearly to the people, then the Republicans will lose and he be reelected - just as what happened with Clinton.

That is sooo exactly right.

Still, Democrats still don't understand that the culture has changed so much for the worse, and gotten so much dumber, that you actually CAN'T appeal to people's smarter, better instincts - because they scarcely exist anymore in America. We have become such a country of fat, self-righteous, ignorant, cynical armchair critics that it seems to me it would be impossible for anyone from any party to ever succeed in the Presidency ever again. That's the sad part, that we keep electing the exact polar opposite of the person before, then attacking them and dragging them down, then repeating the process. It's ridiculous, but it isn't only the fault of politicians. It's the choice of the American citizenry. That's what nobody dares to say . . . "stop blaming us for what you are choosing to do." Try running for election on THAT platform, LOL.

I'm not kidding when I say that probably ninety percent of people my age (I'm 40) here in TN couldn't name the three branches of government and explain their functions. And these people are out there voting! Gee, I wonder why things are going the way they are?

The problem with health care is largely one of over-consumption. So was housing. So is energy. But Americans want someone to swoop down from on high to solve their problems without them having to do anything drastic like eat less, or live within their means, or experience any kind of inconvenience or interruption of mass consumption in any way, ever. We're a perfect paradigm example of how a society deconstructs itself. I actually believe the United States of America won't exist by the end of my lifetime; I think it will break into two or three different countries. And perhaps that's best.

Interesting opinion article. Figured since it deals with politics I would include it in this thread. Can't say that I agree with all of it, but a good read non the less with some very valid points.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrats are making a pre-election pitch to give Social Security recipients a one-time payment of $250, part of a larger effort to convince senior voters that their party, and not Republicans, will best look out for the 58 million people who get the government retirement and disability benefits.

The $250 check is meant to make up for a second year without a cost-of-living increase due to low inflation.

but but but

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle, complained the government’s $600 economic stimulus check was only enough to buy “a pair of earrings” while stumping for her husband.

“You’re getting $600 – what can you do with that?” Mrs. Obama said in Pontiac, Michigan last week. “Not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn’t pay down every bill every month. The short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good, and it may even feel good that first month when you get that check, and then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings.”

LOL, what newspapers are you citing? The "Democratic candidate?" Last time I checked, Obama wasn't a candidate. He is the President of the United fucking States moron.

.. you didn't specify a preference :P ... so I googled:

"“You’re getting $600 – what can you do with that?” Mrs.

And the Washington Times was at the top...

I think the point FF was making is that during the campaign she was slagging Bush's $600 stimulus check as nothing special, yet here the Democrats are doling out $250 and its suddenly a great thing...

This board is so far leaning right it is ridiculous. Every move Obama makes is broken down and ridiculed, yet Sharron Angle goes by silently, with her weekly gaffes. She is incredible. You have these loony bitches on the right, Bachman, Angle, Palin and Odonell, and not one word is spoken about them and their fucked up minds. Too much. Keep at it FF, if you enjoy yourself, well then more power to you I guess.

Dude, Michelle my Belle was breaking down and ridiculing Bush's stimulus before I broke her down today. It's fair game. Come and play. She gave it back then, and I just threw it back at her.

NO you didn't. You just go about on your copy/paste fest and use other peoples words. You do nothing for yourself. There is no point in even reading what you post, IMO.

He quoted her to point out her and her husband's hypocrisy! You're either too stupid to debate the facts, or stupid enough to try to defend the indefensible, you can only whine and moan about copy/paste bullshit.

I havent read anything here for a bit in this thread... so with the mid terms in 2 weeks...my 2 cents theory... two things will happen...either the polls are dead wrong and the dems will remain in power, which then makes you wonder if the media to begin with trumped the tea party up to fail, so Barak will look like the SAVIOR that the media claimed he was in elected in 2008..... or the country is REALLY REALLY PISSED OFF at NATIONAL HEALTH CARE... and other policies by this president... and the GOP will take over both chambers of congress... I have no clue at this point... so I wont say anything more until after the election to see if I am right on both accounts...or wrong on all accounts... this has been an interesting year for sure since the primaries for throwing incumbuts out of office on the GOP and DEM side... so watching election night coverage should be fantastic... on what side, will have explaining to do about why they lost...

later...

So in your opinion Monker perfectly explained the reasoning for Michelle Obama's belittling Bush's $600 tax credit, while her husband tries to buy senior citizens votes with a smaller credit?

In your opinion, did he knock that one out of the park, or did he plug his ears, throw himself on the ground and kick his feet crying about "copy and paste"?

C'mon TNC get real! If Monker truly "calls it as it is". He would have to agree that she and the administration is hypocritical, wouldn't he TNC? But that didn't happen because Monker is as much a lefty as others on this board.

Oh, please, I don't care about FF "point". It's just more of the same copy/paste bullshit he always does. He's not interested in 'discussing' anything. He's just interested in propaganda. And, that is why his posts are not even worth reading or worthy of any of my time other then to point out how worthless copy/pasting is.

I think you are playing too extremes. I think they'll take over the house, but not by Newt's 100 seat swing that I last heard...And, I don't think they'll take the Senate.

I also think it's less about EITHER party and more about frustration of government in general and just cleaning house. People pay far too much attention to propaganda on forums like this...the truth is always somewhere in the middle.

Ah, Fart Finder. How I've missed your cut and paste jobs.

A few months back, I attempted to change the email to which my notifications were sent, since the one with which I'd originally signed up had been spammed to death and was no longer being utilized. Apparently, I entered the wrong alternate "new" email address; no verification email was sent, and hence my account remains in the fourth dimension, never to be used again. It hardly seemed worthwhile, at the time, to sign up anew; but the past two weeks worth of Sharon Angle's stammering cardboard-cutout, standard-issue, factoid-based GOP talking points, in addition to the laughable O'Donnell debacle, made me realize I could no longer simply lurk in the proverbial forum shadows any longer.

I believe I'll start out my comeback with global warming, just for the hell of it.

So, put this in your corn cob pipe and smoke it. And please note this study was published four months ago; it reflects the current state of thinking and the facts as of right now, today...

"Although preliminary estimates from published literature and expert surveys suggest striking agreement among climate scientists on the tenets of anthropogenic climate change (ACC), the American public expresses substantial doubt about both the anthropogenic cause and the level of scientific agreement underpinning ACC. A broad analysis of the climate scientist community itself, the distribution of credibility of dissenting researchers relative to agreeing researchers, and the level of agreement among top climate experts has not been conducted and would inform future ACC discussions. Here, we use an extensive dataset of 1,372 climate researchers and their publication and citation data to show that (i) 97–98% of the climate researchers most actively publishing in the field support the tenets of ACC outlined by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and (ii) the relative climate expertise and scientific prominence of the researchers unconvinced of ACC are substantially below that of the convinced researchers."

http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2010/06/04/1003187107.abstract

Hmmm....

This one is interesting, too.

http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686

"The IPCC's conclusion that most of the observed warming of the last 50 years is likely to have been due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations accurately reflects the current thinking of the scientific community on this issue"

I recommend the following book to even the most obedient Republican climate change deniers:

I was wondering when this was going to come up again. We have a cold winter and that is evidence against GW...but it is followed by a very warm AND LONG summer, and everybody ignores it. Funny how that works.

I can't wait for you to start back up with the "copy and pasting" other peoples words with no accompanying quotation remarks much less links of attribution. (wow that 7 wishes is so smart) And then making up shit and claiming it common knowledge and balk when others ask you for a link of source.

Then to top all this literary malpractice, come out in the next sentence and criticize fact finder for copying/pasting and posting links while you're licking Monker's vag! Good to have you back....dope!!!

You're really unbelievable. Every single WORD is sourced, you jackass. And there are FOUR LINKS! What a dipshit you are!

Try using actual FACTS. This article shows irrefutable PROOF. NINETY EIGHT PERCENT of the nation's best climatologists agree that climate change is caused by humankind. All you and your fellow slack-jawed yokels have is mindless rhetoric that can ABSOLUTELY be disproved in its ENTIRETY. What I did was offer a very qualified opinion that is based on scientific FACT and then backed it up with RAW, 100% CORRECT, and thoroughly vetted information.

What you and your fellow brainless troglodytes do is simply repeat what you're told to believe, even though those sources and those hypotheses have been 100% debunked.

Proof. PROOF! You have NONE! You can't politicize something when it isn't supported by fact. In this case, there are the purveyors of truth, and on the other side, the stubbornly ignorant.

I checked the last half dozen or so posts other than yours to find out what the hell you are talking about. I didn't find one that used the word "proof". Are you high? Recent head trauma? If not, could you please clarify what the hell you're talking about. I've given up hope that you'd learn to click the "quote" button for your responses. It makes you all the more incoherent! Thanks in advance!
