It was a GOP district to begin with. And he's not a nutbag. He's a REAL Democrat with a steel-inforced spine that remembers how to throw and land a punch.

Good points. His career is far from over. I can see him in the the administration in some capacity soon. He is a good Democrat, something of a rarity these days.

So far, not the blowout, but it is early.

Sestak is up ONLY because of Philly...and only 3 counties are reporting anything right now...

Philly might be enough. Obama won because of Philly. If Sestak does win, your night won't be all that. If the Dems can win CO, along with CA and WA, I would say you aren't getting your blowout, especially after the Dems won WV. So far, I am pretty happy.

No Philly's not going to to it...without Philly he is down...way down...

Nah, she's too wacked even for FOX....bet she will be going on a lot of shows as a comedy relief guest. That clip of Maher's where she said she doesn't celebrate Halloween cuz of the human sacrifices going on just floored me....too funny. And, she's a Christian cuz she likes meatballs. She's just too funny. The very fact that she was nominated just proves how desperate some people are.

Well it actually helped your side...Castle would have taken the seat...

My side? I don't have a side in this.

I just think O'Donnell is a complete psycho (and remember, SHE says she's YOU, Stuie). It does nothing but show desperation to nominate and vote for somebody so completely off the deep end....and nominate her over somebody who probably would have won the seat for the Republicans. VERY stupid move for 'your side'.

I don't think it was the fault of the GOP in DE, Monker. The Tea Party cost the right the seat. Sure, Castles would have likely won, but the TP is dangerous, and it cost and will cost some more tonight, the GOP.

PS- I DO think O'Donell is cute as fuck.

True...but it seems to me that the TP is the 'side' Stuie and most other conservatives in this forum have chosen.

I said she was unelectable from the moment I knew who she was. She may be cute, but she is VERY odd.

You never saw me post a thing about her winning...not one...

I didn't say you did. I said the conservatives in this forum, including you, generally support the TP. The TP, as Dean said, is creditied for getting her nominated over somebody who was over 10pts ahead in the polls over the Democrats. Therefore, YOUR SIDE, the TP, screwed up........and I knew that from shortly after she was nominated.

Not having that lib Mike Castle in Senate is NOT a screw up! Kind of screws with your anything for the party view you have of conservatives here doesn't it?

Surprise, suprise...

Numerous polling places in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a Democratic bastion, ran out of ballots, with some voters leaving before casting their ballots, reports the Connecticut Mirror. Democratic state Rep. Christopher Caruso told the paper that at the polling place where he voted, "we counted 47 voters that were turned away and just left." He added: "This is unbelievable and a travesty." State officials say that polling places will remain open until 10 p.m. in light of the mishap.

Meanwhile in Maryland, the campaign of Democratic governor Martin O'Malley is saying that its supporters received misleading phone calls telling them the governor had already won re-election, so they didn't need to bother to vote. The script: "I'm calling to let everyone know that Gov. O'Malley and President Obama have been successful. Our goals have been met. The polls were correct, and we took [inaudible]," the message says. "We're okay. Relax. Everything is fine. The only thing left is to watch on TV tonight."

Meanwhile, in Nevada, the secretary of state's office has said it has received no official reports of voting irregularities. There have been rumors about voting machines in southern Nevada preprogrammed with Sen. Harry Reid's name. Earlier today, the campaign for Reid's opponent, Republican Sharron Angle, filed a complaint with the Justice Department alleging voter intimidation by Reid's campaign and casino executives.

Dream on. The most the GOP winds up with tonight is 48.

And enough of the BS already. The GOP gains NO political capital tonight...the majority of the country still favors the Democratic approach to governance and the economy. The ultra-right racists and Teabaggers are the only reason the Republican turnout was as high as it was. And if the GOP acts as an obstructionist force (which has already been promised), people will see right through it. The only thing that will come out of this election will be further polarization, more gridlock, and endless subpoenas (so we can finally get Obama to admit he's a Muslim Taliban-worshipping Fundamentalist Terrorist Kenyan-born socialist communist Marxist dictator.

If the Dems were soooo good and soooo right, then they would have nothing to worry about. If America wants the liberal lifestyle & government, then why oh why aren't all elections favoring the Dems? The GOP is winning so much because either the libs don't care, or conservative America does care. Either way/both ways, the Dems lose. They can only blame themselves.

So is MSNBC's slogan..."lean forward" supposed to indicate a non-bias? It's funny, all they do is complain about the amount of money Republicans spend and trying to make fun of Republicans. Flipping back and forth between the High Schoolers and Fox, a station that looks to be run by adults!

Dude...you need to stop...Deano was gracious...he gets it...you are just out of it...you call us conservatives far right nut-jobs...look at the bullshit you are spouting. You look like an idiot...the Republicans in the last week have taken the lead on the economy...and the racist thing is just nuts...LOOK at the number for the winners...You are calling ALL of those people racists? Yeah ok

And yeah...ok...48...maybe...say 46...that is a pickup of 6 seats...the average for each election for the party not controlling the Whitehouse is 3.5 seats...6 seats is a HUGE pick up.

And gridlock is a good thing!

Now that this ugly election is coming to a close. I've heard several commentators/candidates try to identify themselves as "Fiscally Responsible and Socially Responsible". Personally, I think this fits most Americans more than the liberals or the extreme Tea party, I know I'm pretty much conservative but it basically fits me. I wonder which party will pick up this first for 2012?

Of course, the question is how do you make this work?

I don't think anyone disputes that MSNBC went left following public disatisfaction over Bush and the Iraq War. To their credit, they still give Repub, Joe Scarborough, 3 hours each morning. Fiscal conservative, Dylan Ratigan also hosts his own program. Remind me, how many libs have their own shows over on FOX again? Bias isn't inherently bad. Lying, on the other hand, is.

I'm talking about NEWS COVERAGE of the election results. People who tune into Beck's show or Olbermann's show know what they're getting. If someone just tunes in for election results, they should expect more than some frat boys trying to make fun of the uncool kids. Understand the difference?

Resounding victory tonight for the GOP.

Losing Nevada was laughable, and proof at the tremendous underlying weakness of the Tea Bagger party - and a thorough evisceration of Angle in particular. The Democrats will have a minimum of 50 seats in the Senate, guaranteed - and even if everything else falls the way of the GOP, and even if the two Independents (one of whom regularly caucuses with the Democrats and one who's named, ugh...Joseph Libermann) were to side with Republicans on a particular piece of legislation, Biden would hold the tie breaker.

The gains in the House are largely attributable to districts that have traditionally voted Republican and only went Blue in the past four years. Additionally, redistricting has made a good number of those sectors so one-sided that often times the Democrats didn't even bother fielding an opponent. The concentration of white male voters in most of the House precincts was enough to overcome the overall lack of support (nationally) for the Republican party, but it wasn't enough to win back the Senate. The Republican party is now DOA, because any successes will be attributed to Obama, and now the House will be accountable to the voters. If the perception in 2012 is the House was being obstructionist and caused massive gridlock in 2010 and 2011, the backlash against the GOP will be noticeable and permanent.

So go ahead and gloat in your non-victory tonight. Healthcare repeal? DOA. Goodnight, neo-cons.
