Exactly! And every test that's ordered has to be justified. I can't just run a battery of tests for the hell of it-I have to give a diagnosis or a symptom to justify EVERY test I order.
Then why do I get billed $80 for 2 Tylenol?
To pay for the nursing, the doctor and equipment used to treat you while you are in the hospital.
Really? And that is ethical? Pass the buck onto someone else to help cover hospital overhead? Hmm, maybe we ought to revisit my thoughts on Gov't involvment. Hospitals are privately run, yes? Many are. If what you said is true, shame on the hospital. Hell, a patient could deny the two tylenol(which don't work anyway), and the hospital could still stick the charge in the bill and no one would ever know it. Wow, two tylenol covers three hours of labour for a nurse. Genius creative billing.
Perhaps if the Gov't ran the hospital, this kind of shit wouldn't happen.
My point in all of this arguing comes down to this. I think it is absolutely shameful that people in the USA make profits off of sick citizens, and big fake and exagerrated profits at that.
