Here's the update.... I ended up seeing an ENT - she agrees my tonsils are out of control (when I'm healthy, they MUST come out) and she didn't disagree with pneumonia diagnosis. She did add her own little twist to it - based on symptoms, I have mono, too. She asked me if I had been exposed to anyone who had mono, strep, or tonsilitis. I said, uh, gee, I'm elementary school teacher - God only knows what I'm exposed to every day!! Anyway, with our big state test 11 days away, I have been ordered to bed rest for the next week. The earliest I could possibly go back to school is the 19th.

So, on that note, I wish everyone a happy, healthy weekend!! :)

Right now, if all goes well - I will go back the day before the test. I want to be there when the kids are taking it. The soup was fab - thank you very much!!

Yes, the doctor had a mono spot done. I had one done on Wed, but it was negative. She said still thinks the symptoms are too much like mono to NOT be mono. We'll see what that test shows.

On the upside - I am feeling somewhat better, so the new antibiotic must be doing the trick. Yea!!

Thanks Moon. It has been about a month I've been sick. I just talked to my ENT today - got the official OK to go back to work on Monday. Also, she now doesn't think I had mono, but some weird virus thingy. Either way, I'm on the road to recovery. Thanks so much for your thoughts Moonie!

As for our hubby..... I'm still waiting for him to show some luv for me in my sort of sick state!! ;)

Hey, anyone here? We're only 27 posts away from 10,000 (26 when I get done here) so come on, we can make it by the end of the night or at least by the end of the weekend can't we.

What has everyone been up to?? I have some very good news. No, I'm not pregnant with twins, or even one for that matter, but, I have broken my coca-cola habit!!

I have drank a six pack a day (minimum) for 15 years and I have not been able to quit no matter how hard I have tried! Three weeks ago I saw a neurologist for my severe headaches and he started me on Topamax which by the way works amazingly! I have only had one headache in three weeks compared to the 15-18 headaches in three weeks that I was having. Well, the one side effect I have is that I CANNOT STAND the taste of anything carbonated, including coke!!! YIPEE!! The result is that I have also lost five pounds already! OK, so the other side effect that I have is that, well, how should I put it, Topamax has a nickname...Dopamax, I do tend to say a few stupid things a day as well. Kirk and the kids actually enjoy this. For example, yesterday I was going to go running and I wanted to wear a particular "sports" bra and I told Kirk I was going to go and change into my "training" bra. He got a good laugh out of it.

So, what's going on in everyone else's life?? Do tell!

ok, the real story goes like this.... had a real naive dr. in our office and i submitted a fake "rst lab result" that
came back positive for spermatazoan. of course, he wanted to do additional testing!! he wanted her up in stir ups for more tests!! he was quite upset
when he found out it was just a joke. actually, i think he just really wanted to get her number with a pcn kicker!!

Sitting at home, starting my first vacation week of the year. Hoping my wife will feel well enough from bronchitis and sinusitis tomorrow so that we can drive to Red River NM to do some snow skiing. I'm feeling kinda doubtful. I certainly don't want her condition to get worse.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Good grief lady, I hate to hear that. You must have a huge practice. Good for you in that way.

Well, it's decent. The nurses that haven't quit in the last month, I've fired so that leaves me to run the place and take care of all the patients and I fired my assistant last week too! And I occasionally work in labor and delivery at a hospital on the days I'm not working or on call for home health. I'm probably going back to L&D full time here in a few months, it's my true love and it's less hours!!!!! But, truth be known, I am a workaholic!
