It's perfectly fine for people who did not write the music to perform the works of Bach & Beethoven...or even jazz & bluegrass bands playing music they did not write...it's only natural that Rock & Roll will follow suit. Bnads like Queen, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin & other iconic pioneers will have their music endure and one way is to make sure it stays within the live arena long after the original artists are gone.

Yeah, but rock (especially hard rock) used to be dangerous - now its becoming nauseating karaoke. Not to put a subliminal thought into any unstable people that might be reading here, but I seriously hope a serial killer starts targeting A.I. contestants and cast members of Glee.

Some Rock was considered "dangerous" only beacuse it was new and caused a stir...once anything stays around long enough to be accepted, it will lose it's danger. Elvis used to be considered dangerous...as did Marylin Manson, Sex Pistols and Eminem...they're all culturally accepted norms now. Queen was never dangerous...trailblazing, but not dangerous.

Point taken. I'll stick with my memories and recordings though.
And yes Gene $immon$ is still planning on a KISS with no original members. The last sign of the Apocolypse.

I love him ^^^, would love to hear him sing something
else, as well!! He's got that whole Freddie jawline thing
going on ...good showman!!
lol ...I must say I'm enthralled by his acute business sense!!Pelata wrote:I remember telling my buddy 10+ years ago that Gene would eventually replace himself and Paul...as long as the make-up, show and songs are performed at the level they are now, he'll do it. Put 4 guys in makeup, teach them the routine, and put them on the road.
Remember Gene's sports team analogy...the Green Bay Packers will always be the Green Bay Packers no matter who's under the helmets.

And hopefully Tommy DeCarlo from Boston is blowing him at that exact second. Just sick of it.

Yes. He is also the anti-Christ.

Interesting notion.

Yes and no. There's a built-in assumption that sports teams are going to have different members at some point in time, but not so much with music. Gene really shit his pants with that comment. Try commemorating the Cowboys back-to-back Super Bowl winning teams by running out the 2010 Cowboys during haftime and see how his "no matter who's under the helmets" comment goes over with the folks in Dallas. He's comparing apples and oranges, really.
