RIP Ellie Mae Clampett

Postby K.C.Journey Fan » Sat Jan 03, 2015 1:02 am

Donna Douglas September 26, 1933 - January 1, 2015
This update comes from Southern Gospel Update: (obit to follow)
We lost a dear family friend today...The world knew her as Ellie Mae Clampet... A Beverly Hillbilly...But we knew her as our precious Donna who never met a stranger, had style and grace, had a kind heart, always wore pretty pink, and loved people! I'm thankful for the time we got to spend with her and all the wisdom and lessons that the kids learned from her! I will forever hear her whistle and "y'all come back now, hear"!!! See you on the other side, my friend!!!

This story now removed from internet. It seems to be a hoax. Donna Douglas is a really nice person. It will be nice to still have here around a while longer.

She was one of the hottest women on TV in the 1960's, along with Dawn Wells, Tina Louise, Barbara Eden and Elizabeth Montgomery.

Yeah....along with Barbara Luna, Mary Tyler Moore, Linda Evens, Stephanie Powers, Julie Newmar as "Catwoman" on Batman . I watch a lot of old television and movies before my time and see these women in their prime. All those chicks were very hot because back then, they were primarily naturally beautiful, before all the plastic surgeries and crap that they got going on today.

Julie Newmar did a show with bob cummings called "My Favorite Doll". She was pretty hot there also.

Agreed on MTM, Linda Evans and Julie Newmar. I don't know who Barbara Luna is. I know Stephanie Powers from "Hart To Hart" but I don't know what she was on in the 1960's?

I should also add Sally Field on "Gidget" (She was really 19, not 15 like she was on the show)
Pat Priest and Beverly Owens from "The Munsters"
Barbara Feldon from "Get Smart"
Shelley Fabares "Donna Reed Show"
Peggy Lipton "Mod Squad"

Powers was around in the 60's as an actress in a few movies and as a model or something like that. Pic of her in the 60's:

Barbara Luna was in an episode or two of Wild Wild West I think and in Star Trek where she seduces the Enterprise Captain. Also in an episode of the Rifleman.

Fast forward to time 3:15 of the video below to see Luna in the episode of Star Trek "Mirror Mirror" :

The episode of Wild Wild West is: "The Night Of The Deadly Bed":
Fast forward to time 7:40 of the video below to see Luna:

The Big Valley, fast forward to time 9:16 of the video:

Lots of examples of Luna.
