Well its true the Tennessee Titans have clawed their way back into contention in the AFC after a few down seasons.
From their first year in 1999 through 2011 they had 7 winning seasons and playoff berths but from 2012 through 2015 went through some lean years which is what happens when you not only have a bad GM but also draft a QB bust.
Well things have now changed for the better. For any NFL team to be a winner year to year they need two things a good GM that can draft and a good QB who can play.
The Titans now have both in GM Jon Robinson who learned under Belichick in New England and QB Marcus Mariota a unique dual threat who is good running and throwing and already owns the second longest run in history by a QB for 87 yards.
The Titans turned things around in Mariota's second season.
The Titans won nine games and had a winning season while sharing the best record in the division with Houston.
Tennessee defeated the defending Super Bowl champ Denver Broncos as well as a few teams that made the postseason like Green Bay,Detroit,Houston,Miami,Kansas City.
Week Ten they routed the Packers 47-25 the most points the Packers have given up since 1986 when they lost 55-24 to the Giants. Tennessee scored 35 points first half the most by any team in first half last year.
That win capped off a three week run of 118 points scored. However the toughest victory was the 19-17 last second comeback over KC at Arrowhead to win in freezing single digit conditions.
There is no doubt GM Jon Robinson did a great job in his first year here. Robinson was only on the job a few weeks before making that blockbuster draft trade with the Rams for the Titans top pick in the 2016 draft.
After trading the Rams the top pick Titans had 6 picks out of the first 76 in the draft which was the most of anyone in the draft since the 1991 Dallas Cowboys who had 7 in 70 and got 5 SB starters in that draft.
The last three teams with at least 6 picks among first 76 picks all reached Super Bowl within 5 years: 91 Boys, 82 Pats, 75 Rams. Could the Titans keep the streak going and eventually make it to the big game as well?
In the draft they were able to land OT Jack Conklin,RB Derrick Henry,WR Tajae Sharpe all contributors offensively as well as S Kevin Byard,CB LeShaun Sims,OLB Aaron Wallace were defensive contributors also.
All ten draft choices played in games during the 2016 season.
RB Demarco Murray,WR Rishard Matthews,OC Ben Jones were big pick ups in free agency and helped the team as starters in 2016.
However one thing is for certain and that is the fact that this team has a bright future ahead and QB Marcus Mariota will be healthy and ready to roll once the 2017 season starts.
As of November 24,2016, Mariota was the first QB in modern NFL history with six four-TD performances in his first 22 career games. No other QB had more to start a career.
Mariota is the first QB in NFL history to have 3 games with 70.0+ completion %, at least 4 TD passes and no INTs in his first 2 seasons.
Marcus Mariota is a stud in the red zone as well. 33 TDs and 0 Ints in his short career. Titan’s have the NFL’s best red-zone offense. They score a TD 75 percent of the time they get inside the 20.
Only Tom Brady 6.1 and Aaron Rodgers 6.0 have a higher TD rate than Mariota (5.5%) since he entered the NFL in 2015.
On passes of 20+ yards in 2016 Mariota had 41 completions of 20-plus yards. Only Atlanta’s Matt Ryan and New Orleans’ Drew Brees had more.
So far in 27 games Mariota had 506 of 821 passes completed, 61.6%, 6244 yards, 45TD/19INT, 93.8 passer rating.
The Titans just picked up WR Corey Davis and CB Adoree Jackson in the first round of the 2017 draft
If Mariota can stay healthy and avoid injury then the sky is definitely the limit.............

I like the Giants in the NFC to represent in the Super Bowl for the '17 season.
The AFC will belong to Brady and the Pats indefinitely.

If you're into the conspiracy thing, then I'd say the conspiracy would be more in line with Dan Rooney's death. Doesn't matter. If the Steelers want to employ zone on Tom Brady over and over again, it will be the same result defensively. That game plan in the AFC Title game last season was liquid ass and deserved the beatdown from sheer coaching staff stupidity.

Wide receiver Eric Decker’s release from the Jets hit the NFL’s transaction wire on Tuesday, leaving him free to start taking visits and talking contracts with other teams.
The wait for that process to begin was not a long one. In a move first reported by Nashville-based musician Kenneth Nixon — Decker’s wife Jessie is a country music artist and the couple has a home in the city — and confirmed by multiple NFL reporters, Decker is visiting with the Titans on Wednesday.
The Titans added Corey Davis and Taywan Taylor to their wide receiving group in this year’s draft to help make Marcus Mariota’s life easier in his third season running the offense and Decker would offer further assistance on that front. Tajae Sharpe, Rishard Matthews, Harry Douglas and Tre McBride are also on the roster.
Other teams may also entertain a pursuit of Decker, but, given the Titans’ desire to build up their receiving options and the Deckers’ connections to the city, a deal could wind up making enough sense to both sides that Decker’s first visit is his only one.

The Steelers wrapped up their draft-class signings Wednesday.
The team announced that first-round pick T.J. Watt had signed his four-year rookie deal.
The Wisconsin linebacker — who is of course the brother of Chargers fullback Derek Watt — had 11.5 sacks in his final college season.
Like his other brother, some guy named J.J., he made the transition from offense to defense, and is still learning.

Will definitely be interesting to see how much longer Brady/Roethlisberger/Manning stick around. The new guard of up and comers that i would include on the list of best young QB would include Carr/Mariota/Winston. There are others at the mid point of their career doing well like Rodgers/Ryan/Wilson. The most improved QB would go to Matt Stafford in 2016 he had 8 come from behind victories.

Educate me. I've scoured every site explaining how the schedules are made, and I can't, for the life of me, figure out why N.E. won the SB - yet are traveling AGAIN, for the 2nd year in a row...(or is it 5 now) to Pittsburgh AND Denver. Isn't it supposed to alternate?!

Just because the Patriots won the Super Bowl, doesn't mean they get to decide when they are home and away
Winning the Super Bowl ensures they will host a challenger to kickoff Week 1 of the NFL season, as it has always been. The Pats didn't play in Pittsburgh for 5 years in a row(
). Schedules of this nature happen. The Steelers played in New England for back to back years in 2007 and 2008. They also played the last 2 regular season matchup's in New England
(2013; 2015) before New England came back to Pittsburgh in 2016. Before the 2016 season, the last time New England traveled to Pittsburgh was 2011, which was in a span of 5 years.
All NFL teams go back to back years in some form or fashion playing on the road or at home. I don't think there's any specific way the NFL sets up individual matchup's from years prior or pay attention to who was home or away during those consecutive years. They're more focused on what specific divisions draw the other divisions and how that 4 year swing will determine everything else. There's only a few factors that determine whether you're on the road or home, depending on what certain playoff teams do in the post-season.

First, if you're going to whip facts at me like an 'A Current Affair' logo, at least be correct.
From 9/27/81 through 12/16/95, the Steelers had NINE straight home games against New England. With NO playoff games.
Since Brady entered the league, Pitt's had 7 Home games, and 6 Away games...including playoff games.
And as far as your 'before New England came back to Pittsburgh in 2016. Before the 2016 season, the last time New England traveled to Pittsburgh was 2011, which was in a span of 5 years' fact...what you fail to add is they didn't even play each other in 2014, or 2012. so basically 3 years.
They seem to be on a Home Home, Away Away schedule...Plan on coming to Gillette in '18 motherfucker. It's long overdue.

Including playoff games is irrelevant to the conversation considering this is a regular season schedule we're talking about. In other words, you're arguing two different NFL scheduling formats. The NFL doesn't decide who's home or away in the playoffs. Seeding does.
what you fail to add is they didn't even play each other in 2014, or 2012. so basically 3 years.
Re-read what I posted.
They also played the last 2 regular season matchup's in New England (2013; 2015) before New England came back to Pittsburgh in 2016.
Point is there's no conspiracy against New England traveling. NFL schedules just sometimes work that way depending on multiple factors. The Steelers have traveled to NE for consecutive years. The Patriots have traveled to Pittsburgh for consecutive years. Switch out all 32 NFL teams and it's the same logic.
Plan on coming to Gillette in '18 motherfucker. It's long overdue.
Until proven otherwise, sorry. I'm not watching our defensive coordinator play chicken little and back off Brady to see him throw to wide open rugby guys. Not happening

Teams played is a given. They are on 4 year rotations. I'm asking how they determine HOME and AWAY.
For instance: N.E. played Pitt and Denver away last season. And again are playing them away THIS season. Whereas N.E. played Dallas away in 2015, but will play at home in 2019.

I'm 110% over the NFL. The overexposure, the awful QB play save two to four QBs, the penalties/awful officiating and drawn out games, the scumbag players, the silly scandals every year (Deflategate, Ezekiel Elliott) and so on. The total package leaves everything to be desired from my perspective. Doesn't help being a fan of the Browns, one of if not the worst organizations on Planet Earth. But even putting that unfortunate reality aside, the NFL is just bullshit. Hate it now.

For me it's two things. Niners ownership and the NFL with their head up their ass.
For the NFL, I was so turned off when they would not let the Cowboys wear the patches last year for the 5 officers killed days before. With no other factor, fuck them. Let a city pick the way it heals and honors. I could care less if it interferes with their policy. But then to bounce that against them allowing Rams players to do the whole hands up don't shoot crap, and all the anthem protests, it makes the Dallas situation that much more striking in it's insensitivity. The NFL has the power to do a lot of good and they have shit all over that in recent years. I don't watch other sports, so I am not as passionate and don't know if they are the same.
Niners ownership - see Georgia Frontiere's reign over the Rams for reference. It's that bad or worse.
When the Niners win 6 straight, I'm back in because my DNA would not allow me not to. But I am not a fair weather fan. Been a fan since the late 70's and last year was the first year I did not watch. And I didn't miss a God damn thing.

As I've stated on here before, I am confident that the games are all rigged by the league themselves.
I also feel that many of the scandals are also staged by the league for publicity and other factors.
As for the Browns. I think that the league is about to have the Browns win a lot more games. This year they will win somewhere in the 6 to possibly even 9 game range. Then they will have them be a playoff team the next season.

Sorry to hear that gentlemen. The NFL has its flaws and those flaws have certainly grown throughout the product over the years. Still, warts and all, I absolutely love it. I'm all in. I'm just hoping Antonio Brown karate kicks a Browns player right in the face again

FYI to those who might not have joined yet, you can't click on Rejoin. After you search up Melodicrock, click on the group name to go to the group page. There is no Rejoin to click on. Instead click on the link that says something like "Play now for free". Then it will ask for the group password.
