1978 Another good year for music.

1. The Cars - The Cars While I am a huge Styx fan, this was my favorite album of the year, a very fun listen

2. Styx - Pieces of Eight Another great album by the band

3. Blondie - Parallel Lines Teenage hormones really like Blondie and so did I

4. Toto - Toto Really liked the music, wasn’t crazy about the singers at the time, but still good

5. Journey- Infinity Very impressive vocals and guitar, a match for each other. Songs showed a big improvement.

6. Van Halen - Van Halen The singer was ok, the background singer knocked my socks off and the guitarist blew me away

7. Rainbow - Long Live Rock-n-Roll A very friendly D&D album

8. REO Speedwagon - You Can Tune A Piano But You Can’t Tuna Fish An album that matches the feel of their live album

9. Boston - Don’t Look Back In my top 10, Should have been named Boston the remake

10. Joe Walsh - But Seriously Folks Joe before he started sounding stoned all the time.

1. Boston - Don’t Look Back This cd was a huge disappointment in terms of something new. Same set up as last album, songs sound just different just enough to get by to not be called a remake, but it is.

Just about anything Ronnie James Dio sang on sounded good. He had a voice that in most cases lift an ok song to good or great.

A lot of Hagar's early stuff was hit or miss when it came to writing, but he could being a energy to a song.

Dio was the best rock singer ever

A lot of Hagar's early stuff was hit or miss when it came to writing, but he could being a energy to a song.

His lyrics are nowhere near Rush/BÖC, but as far as good crotch-kick American hard rock with shredding lead guitar and killer vocals go, Sam's pre-VH albums are all winners, with the exception of his very first one, 9 on a 10 Scale. That one feels way too light on the rock-o-meter.

Was not in agreement with all their choices, but they were spot on for about 2/3 of the albums.
