So sad. I am in total shock. He had such a gift and was such a trailblazer. I heard the news and it took my breath away. Way to young. Good speed Eddie

His is a gargantuan loss to rock music. He wasn't just an influence, not just an idol, he was a totem.

RIP Eddie. You made it happen. You lived by your own rules. Rock will never be the same.

RIP EVH. While it is sad I am not surprised as I suspected something was up when Dave spoke about Ed back in January. Dave (in the past) has been selective about what he has said to keep from ruffling feathers and when he made the comments at the link below and there was no response from the VH brothers I kind of expected the worst.

Dave stated in another interview that he has been using VH gear and VH tech people on his show.

RIP Ed and thanks for the musical contribution to all of us.

Yeah, the interview where he said "When I was music director for seven years..."

As if he or anyone could "direct" the Van Halens. He was a collaborator, not a director.

For those who haven't seen it, check out the opening page Andrew made for MelodicRock.com
It's not only a great Eddie Van Halen pic, but heartfelt words that Andrew does so well in his interviews
and apparently tributes. nicely done.

Check out this tribute, they probably do the best cover ever. Also check out their other videos they cover a ton of tunes and do an original called "Sex, Drugs, & Rock N Roll" that is in the style of VH

What a great player. I'm not sure his kid isn't better than he was. Wolf can play!

It's pretty amazing how much Wolfgang guitars have increased in value. I bought a bunch of USA Wolfgangs when I got tore up with them back in the 2000's. I love that guitar, it is the guitar that fits me the best. They've increased in value tremendously. It's almost crazy. I a guitar a I paid $800 for is now going for $5000. Very weird. The point, fk the money and play what you like!
