Re-visiting High n Dry

Had the vinyl years ago, when it was released..long since gone

Ive kinda left the Lepps behind for a number of years now.

On impulse I bought H AND D on CD today, 5 english pounds bargain bin...... fuck...what an album, Ide forgotten how much I loved it. It was certainly their "chuggin riff" album wasnt it? Let It Go, another Hit n Run, and Mirror Mirror..Jeez.... rock right outta ther speakers

I downloaded all their early BBC stuff off Guitars101 again today, I think the energy in those early tracks, totally hammers the shit out of a lot of the later stuff

I even dug out my "Bludgeon Riffola" EP today, the first release, lashed to within an inch of its life it was, totally unplayable now, shame!!

Just listened to it yesterday myself! Man I had forgotten some of this stuff!!

It's a pretty damn good album, but the lack of variation on the tracks kind of gets old after a while. What I'm saying is that all the songs sound the same, production-wise. There's no sonic variation! For that reason, I can't listen to HAD all the way through, but here and there, it's okay.

Overall, it's comparable to BACK IN BLACK. Although I think BIB has better songs.

it has some great rockers...LET IT GO, ANOTHER HIT AND RUN, and of course, HIGH AND DRY. I've heard BRINGING ON THE HEARTBREAK too many times, so I skip that one. But I come back for SWITCH 625, of course!

The classic 5 to open, Lady Strange, Mirror Mirror, You got me Runnin' - the whole album just flows perfectly. On Through the Night...awesome song.

Okay, I see what you're saying, you're right... I was putting my personal views into it... I look for more variation.

But I agree HAD is a classic metal album. It rocks hard, has great songs, and great performances.
