Good one Deb. That clip was from a most troubled tour wasn't it?

This is my SECOND favourite Van Halen track:

Mindy - here's something to cheer you up when you're done with the chores.

Okay...the only Bon Jovi record I (secretly) like...which also has some nostalgia value
for me.

It's not exactly what I'd call a 'deep cut' from the Jovi oeuvre - but here it is anyway....

Don't Wait To Wait Anymore - The Tubes

Legendary punk/avante-garde band decide to reinvent themselves as an AOR stadium rock group in 1982 and draft in David Foster...the man behind all the big 80s Chicago hits....and amazingly ...it worked!

Brilliant power ballad...even though it was all very tongue-in-cheek....

Honestly - I think it's plastic and lightweight rock music cynically aimed at an American audience by a bunch of mildly talented Brits....

That old criticism that it's heavy metal for people who don't like heavy metal is so true....

.......and as for solo JBJ has to be this one! Just love the groove to that song for some reason. Jeff Beck on guitar. Talk about a young Matt Leblanc in that one too!

His voice is just so...just so...phoney.

It reminds me of Jovi's gruff and earnest 'I'm from the mean, dusty plains of the American heartland' act ...don't you think?

But...er...maybe I've had too much sugar and coffee today....so let's agree to differ. I don't want any trouble at that Steve Perry concert. :)

He's fantastic, Matthew! Believe me, that doesn't capture what goes on at the show...when I went, he had everyone up in their seats, dancing, rocking, having a blast! FULL of energy, he didn't stop moving  I had no voice left by the time they were done...and then Def Leppard came on (let's not get into THAT again  ) and I was up and singing and dancing on my seat again 8) I was SO wired after that show....when it ended, I hated to leave, I really did. I hope they get over the pond to you guys in the UK, they are SO worth seeing :D

I wouldn't miss it for the world, Mindy!

Great to hear about the show - I thought you were being a bit mysterious about it - and that maybe you'd been slightly disappointed - but glad to hear that wasn't remotely the case!

So wish they'd play IBAWY in concert though...maybe they will when they are the proper headlining act?

No WAY was I disappointed! Sorry I didn't give a full report, its been crazy here the last 2 weeks  Things are settling down though, thank goodness! That was my first EVER Journey show, and Jeff kicked ass, he really did.

Ya know, Matt, there's a Baltimore show coming up  Only a 5 hour flight :P You could make a long weekend out of it
