Tomorrow's Eve & Seventh Wonder

Hi:

First time posting on the board . . . Absolutely fantastic place you've got ! Cheers to Mr. McNeice and everyone for keeping "our music" alive and thriving !

A few weeks ago, I received the latest regular monthy promotional package from Lion Music (Thanks Lasse and Andy!). One of the discs inside was a band I'd not heard of before . . . Tomorrow's Eve out of Germany. Can't really place their sound, other than somewhat like their fellow countrymen Vanden Plas.

Absolutely fantastic, definitely heavy-edged, very wild storyline concept album that I can't stop playing (quite loudly too). Would love to see these gents play live, or at least some video of a show.

Just picked up today what is apparently the first part of the concept (Mirror Of Creation . . . from 2003) and listening as I type this . . . I'm one happy musical camper right now.

Back in early August, I got a surprise in the mail with the new release by Seventh Wonder, another Lion artist . . . . no, this isn't an advert for the label, I'm just a fan of incredible music with some real good fortune to receive material because of a hobby. Would really help if I kept up to date with the all news releases and other things, but I've gotten so involved in the business with my own clients, I can't catch up with allot of what's going on outside. That's where this place will come in really handy for me, btw. Awesome comprehensive news and info every day.

Anyway, Seventh Wonder is another amazing melodic, hard-edged band that absolutely blew me way with their album 'Become'. This follow-up called "Waiting In The Wings" has the band with a new lead vocalist that has tons of presence and the production is tops.

I'm not one for placing genre labels on music (too limiting for the market), but if you're into prog-metal and/or metal at any level and don't know either band, give 'em a go and you may end up as a fan too.

Cheers!
Kenny Solomon

How does the new vocalist for Tomorrow's Eve compare to the one from the first Mirror Of Creation album?

Being as I've only heard the previous album once through so far, I'd say the new chap, Martin LeMar definitely has more presence.

Cheers!

The new Seventh Wonder is awesome...i thought 'Become' was really average...so i'm glad i gave them a second chance.

These bands soon became my favorites.
I like both releases from Seventh Wonder, first has more neoclassical approach, second Waiting In The Wings is like progmetal meets AOR with incredible production. Both are full of great melodies.

I know only second part od Mirror Of Creation from Tomorrow's Eve. It reminds me Scenes From A Memory (from Dream theater) in some ways. I like dark atmosphere and energy of this record and voice of Martin LeMar is fantastic. I already knew him from Lalu - Oniric Metal which is another interesting release for fans of melodic progmetal (also from Lion Music).

Waiting In The Wings and Mirror of Creation II are in my opinion one of best releases in 2006 in progmetal genre.
