Nightwish ecard

The instrumental version of the album should have been called:

Nightwish - 'Dark Passion Play' featuring Pip Williams and the London Session Orchestra

Great stuff... wouldn't call it Operatic Metal any more though... rather: Symphonic Metal

...anyone else here heared it yet..?

Haven't heard all of it yet. Just the bits on myspace. I wasn't impressed with Eva, and I'm not overly impressed with Anette''s vocals. The other songs on myspace are good though. Looking forward to the album arriving, which should be this week sometime so I can give a good listening too. Also looking forward to the Northern Kings album.

If You've listened to Tarja's vocals a lot - it's gonna be a new sound hard to get used to... I can tell You that...

Just finishing my first spin. Liking it. I was one of those that had a hard time with Tarja's vocals. I always thought of them as too operatic. So now I enjoy the music more. Very good CD so far.

Now, don't get me wrong, because I consider myself a fan of Tarja - went to see her in concert last December, met her, her band & her husband after the concert: great, fun people. :)

But I must say, the outcome from this Metal Soap Opera - what the Finnish media calls the aftermath from Tarja's ousting, the end results are great:

Nightwish has a new sound, and Tarja's releasing a new album next month.

The fans are winning.

In my opinion its such a big step up from their previous albums and I enjoy the new singer A LOT more than Tarja :)

It will most likely be in my top 10 albums for 2007.
