I am starting to think that they hired JSS but the Walmart thing came up. ASnd faced with the difficult progress to be made with JSS and the EASY payoff with Walmart, they opted to find someone who could get them a paycheck...

All I know is he is such an amazing front man and such an outstanding talented musician and in my opinion would have added such spark to any new music that Jon and Neal could put together. Just what is so great about Arnel or so bad about Jeff? I know this is over and done and no one consulted me or asked by opinion but it would really give me some closure to know what is going thru Jon and Neal's heads and why they made the choices that they did. If it was all business and money then just say so, or if it was creative differences then say that or if Arnel is kissing Neal's booty and Jeff didn't then say that. I just want to know!! I am planning to open my closed mind and give the new stuff a chance but it better rock my socks and not put me to sleep. I do so hate love songs and elevator music and I never liked Trial by Fire, it was just to mellow for me so if the new stuff is like that then I will just be moving on.![]()

JSS didn't sound like Journey- period. He sounded good, but not like "Journey".
I can see why they changed their minds, I just don't like the way it was done.

No, JSS didn't sound like Perry - period. Have a listen to "Coming Home" off of Soul Sirkus' World Play, completely Journey-esque.......that could have easily come off of a classic era Journey cd.

exactly! and why he was such a great choice
he did the dd beautifully, but had such promise for so much more than being a part of a glorified cover band....

Great song.. But,sorry,he's about 3-4 keys lower than Perry.. Most of the songs were mediocre.. Loved Periled Divide.. Some songs sound Journey, some Hardline,a couple Whitesnake..

Actually SS is a killer album. I let it sit and it didn't impress me. When JSS got into Journey, I listened to it again and for some reason I loved it.
Hardline, I liked that one too.
