No way. I am as big a fan of Perry-era Journey as anyone, but the Eagles are in another stratosphere. I am going to see VH tonite, and you can still buy tickets TODAY on the floor for face value. Eagles sell out within minutes. Journey with Perry would be comparable to VH.
The Eagles are to Rock and Roll what Kenny G is to jazz. The Eagles are one of the all time best POP bands without doubt, but as far as rock goes VH utterly wastes them. Eagles may "rock" the wine and cheese, limosine liberal, Moonbat crowd, but you have to draw the line somewhere. (Post-Perry Journey has even amped up their live show compared to the Perrier swilling Eagles) It's that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame mentallity that lumps Madonna, Sinatra and anyone else that had a top 10 song post-1945 into the Rock and Roll category that has frosted my ass for years. My Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would look a helluva lot different than that piece of shit in Cleveland. Sargent Peppers and Pet Sounds may be great pop albums, and the Beach Boys totally rocked the four times I saw them, but these albums ain't even in my Rock and Roll ball bark. They aren't even in the parking lot. Hey that's my opinion cause if it ain't got that swing it ain't Swing and if it don't Rock, well...
