Cain says Perry will never be in Journey again

Perry's legacy is in CONCRETE. That has to get under Cain's skin big time.

Cain and Schon may hate Perry's guts? But I honestly don't think that that Cain and Schon have any problem with the fact that Steve Perry's a legend. And I think a lot of people are blowing things way out of proportion about Journey trying to take away Perry's legacy from the band.

The more popular that the old Perry/Journey hits are, the more money that Cain and Schon make too.

The topic of Steve returning to Journey or a Journey reunion reminds me of when the Beatles broke up. For years there was talk of that group re-uniting and it never happened. Then John died and the talk died down but since John had a son that looked like him why not have him stand in for John. It wasn't until George died that the all the talk did too. To me, this is the same thing. The talk will continue until a few of the guys died and only then.

Did you read the interview he did with the GQ guy? It sounds like everything related to Journey or singing causes him a great deal of emotional pain. he can't even stand to hear his own singing voice sometimes because "it sounds like Steve Perry".

Actually in some other interview he did, he talked about how difficult it was for him to edit that DVD.

NEWSFLASH: Perry can't sing anymore. Definitely not up to Journey standards.

That is all that needs to be said. All of the "Perry is a pain in the ass" stuff is irrelevant. Most of this rhetoric probably came from Perry refusing to sing anymore, which pissed the band members off. I am sure all of the members of the band could be labelled a "pain in the ass" at times. Singers have much more than finger calluses to deal with. They are out there on the front line trying to communicate with the masses whether they feel like it or not. They have to be very careful with their voice, and as we saw with Augeri - this kind of singing can ruin your vocal chords. Most people would probably be moaning and bitching if they had to endure the excruciating performances that Perry gave night after night.

Is Steven Tyler a pain in the ass? Is Mick Jagger a pain in the ass? Is Elton John pain in the ass? Can Steve Perry be a pain in the ass? Probably, but the music world would be lacking without any one of them.

P.S. - We can't go by what Herbie Herbert said about Perry. Herbie was in it for the money. I am sure Herbie has also been called a "pain in the ass" by many of his associates. He seems very opinionated and cocky. When Perry decided that his voice was toast, he shut down the money machine for everyone including Herbie. That could easily win the "pain in the ass" award from everyone involved who lost out on a paycheck.
