Yeah, it's good and Barlow does sound great but....it just doesn't grab me like I thought it would. I need to listen to it some more. I just don't find the time as I haven't been listening to much else other than Brother Firetribe and Leverage. They have grabbed me. :D

Really Penny? HA, kinda of the opposite for me, I gave Leverage's latest spin after spin after spin but aside from maybe two tracks... nothing! :? Whereas I put on Immortal and bang instant classic to my ears. Hugely melodic heavy and everything about it gets a thumbs up from me!

Funny isn't it. I love Leverage's first album, Tides. It's the best of the lot, but it's all good.

Oh well if it's Tides you are talking about - count me in! 8)
Fantastic album, one of the strongest debut's these paste years...
But it's the sophomore Blind Faith I had trouble with...

You mean Blind Fire, :D but that's great too. I have to say that I wasn't overly impressed with anything from both bands at first. Brother Firetribe I listened to months ago and though meh, that's nothing. But after listening to each album from both bands a few times, now I can't hear enough of any of them. They are on constantly in the house and the car. I'm off to Finland for Christmas and am hoping to track down either or both bands to see live. Keep your fingers crossed for me. :D

Yep - Blind Fire is what I meant!

I thrashed the life out of Tides but not so with Blind Fire. Still haven't gotten into Brother Firetribe yet, I like the slightly harder edge of Leverage, but I haven't given up yet!

So you traveling to Finland just for a chance at the music scene or other business/holdiday? When do you go?

Man I would love to get to Finland one day, there are some fantastic bands about there my favorite being Charon. If you've not heard them let me send you a couple of tracks or make some suggestions Penny, great gothic flavored band and very smooth! More to the point though it looks beautiful to visit and talk about some interesting history!

Fingers crossed! 8)

Oh yeah, Charon are great. I'm very much into Finnish bands, but no, I'm not going over there just to chase one or two, lol. My groupie days are long gone.
We're going to visit family for Christmas for 3 weeks, late December - early January.

I'm pretty lucky really. I've been over there a few times now and lived there for 6 months. My father in law runs a summer music place so I get to see lots of bands when it's the right season.

Damn! What a great place to have family! Make sure then you have a decent phone for recording and get us some footage of Leverage and Charon if the opportunity presents itself!?

Good luck then Penny - Enjoy!

Oh yes, that wont be a problem. I'll have my handy Nokia with me.

I've been listening to Blind Fire all day today and you really do need to give it another try. It's great. The song Sentenced brought tears to my eyes when I listened to the lyrics.

All day??? I'm still trying to get 'Tides' into me....I mean its good, very good.....but I'm not hearing anything too much diferent from a lot of Euro-metal out there.....having said that, I'll definitely be purchasing 'Blind Fire'.

It's good to have music of this calibre to buy from bands that haven't been around for 20 years.

Wardy - you been around much here lately? Haven't heard from you for a while!

Hey Kenny, yeah I've been about (not that you'd know it from the time it's taken me to notice your post ).

I pretty much stick to the Notice Board these days as it's pretty much current news everytime you open the page due to the mad antics of those over passionate members over there (God bless em too!). I usually only check out the Boards here once or twice a month or thereabouts. I should roam more often but life is so busy. Breakdownroom and Melodicrock/Noticeboards is where I'm at mostly.

How's things with you??? I miss your posts - gotta get over here more often!

I've recently picked up some decent albums, been a good year for music but makes it hard when you have to be selective with the funds!!!!!
