Agreed.

Wrong. It's not an idealogical position for me. If Heart doesn't want them using the song, it's their right to say so. Period.

As far as the weight jokes go, that's just stupid. Hasn't Anne lost a ton of weight anyway? Last I saw her, the was looking a lot slimmer than I remember her being.

I do believe this is about HEART making a statement that they aren't Pro-Republican, but they don't have the right to choose or enforce who , where, what and why should politicians play their music. politicians are also people that listen to music and play it anywhere as they want/wish to. unless of course it is stated in the album that this product is taboo for politicians, then Heart has a case against the Republicans. it's ok for HEART to express their political sentiment, but trying to prohibit the use of their song is just overreacting too much. but anyways, Barracuda is just an understatement about PALIN. they should had chosen "AMERICAN WOMAN" instead.

At the Dallas show, she was as big as I've ever seen her. Doesn't make a difference to me, she did what she came to do and did it amazingly well. What a singer.

As I said before, I don't have a problem with them not wanting their music to be used for political purposes. I DO have an issue with how they voiced their disapproval, though.

You're probably right about that, Lula, but then you'd have the dems bitching and the republicans praising. Neither side is innocent.

Nice to see nothing has changed over at Jackass Talk! You're too good for that place, Dave!

John from Boston

;) Maybe so. Actually, they did reopen the thread, at least to let the OP clarify that it had nothing to do with politics...

I think Tito needs to run by the local Republican offices and pick up a McCain/Palin shirt for Friday night.  I guess it makes my night easier, I was debating which shirt to wear originally:

Rick can I have a guitar pick (Cheap Trick)
Nancy can I be your Magic Man (Heart)
SteveW2 is the real faggot (Journey)

Heart's Roger Fisher (co-author of the tune) is taking the money that they will get from the DNC (like they will?) and donating it Obama's camp.

Just got a call from my wife who's at the Detroit show tonight. She said Heart came out onstage and said they couldn't perform. Nancy said Ann's voice is shot. Cheap Trick only played their usual 45 minute set too. I told my wife Journey better play an extra long set or I'll have to raise hell with ticketmaster. :D

 Holy shit. I hope Ann's voice isn't damaged and just tired. She's been just amazing up to this point.

I think if one group does their full set, all refunds are off. Probably in the small print somewhere on the ticket or on the seller's site.

And your screen name is "archetype"...how utterly fitting.

Come on, if Nancy sat on your face, you would so totally let her. Admit it! Even if she IS a Democrat.

Ummm...well, it is considered homicide in 46 states...involuntary manslaughter in 3 others, and physician-assisted suicide in Delaware.

According to reports, Journey did extend their set.

One rumor is that Heart has been taking a lot of flak for their recent 'political' foray and have received death threats. So they cancelled the show for their own safety!

My wife said Journey played close to 2 hours. She didn't say anything about seeing any firearms or anything. That's probably because the actual venue is about 45 minutes OUTSIDE of Detroit. :D

Anyone who thinks that domestic enemies like Obama should be put in power is an enemy of mine. They're a true disgrace to everything that the founding fathers fought for.
