In history? Bullshit. There's a stretch.

Go away and bow out gracefully! You can get back to your bitching and whining tomorrow! The fact that you actually believe what any politician claims he is going to do tells me that you're a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic!

I don't ordinarily believe anything that anybody tells me, but when someone is threatening socialism I kind of take notice.

Not only does this give us a fresh new start, but a fresh hope that needs to be full-filled. Seeing how Obama faced the race card in America, the challenge of going up against a once powerful name regarding the party election for Democrat, and finally the daunting task of convincing the American people to vote for it's first African American as President of the United States facing a economic downfall.. and then actually being elected at 11:00 speaks wonders. I am eager, and proud to be apart of a change that we desperately need in this country.

Good luck to President Obama and staff and cheers to him for having the opportunity in taking us to a new, and successful beginning!

right on!! you're excitement and enthusiasm is contagious. well said. 8)

Perfectly stated. Things will arise and things will change under the Presidency under Barack Obama..he will learn and he will act accordingly..under the same plan that will for sure be tweaked. All with one thought in mind. To do what's safe, and to do what's right for America.

You know...I was channel flipping...I hit Fox and was listening to Juan Williams and he was almost crying with the emotions of the day, I saw Jesse Jackson in the crowd crying and you know what I have been moved to tear myself.

Somewhere tonight, looking down on our GREAT country, Medgar Evers and Martin Luther King are smiling down.

It is easy to forget in this day and age that a mere 43 years ago African-Americans in this country were lynched for even trying to vote, were made to sit in the back of the bus, had to use separate restrooms and faced indignities those of us who didn't live in those times can only imagine.

John McCain's consession speech is very humble, gracious and very supportive of President-elect Obama.

I would ask that we all put aside our differences (at least for the next few days and weeks) and realize what a historic moment we have witnessed and try and come together and see what this moment means to us as a country: No longer will we be able say we look at a person and judge them "by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." And no longer can the world look on us and say we are racist...we have elected a man of color to the most powerful office in the land. May God grant him wisdom, faith and the ability to see past partisanship and do what is best for all of us.

McCain is a good man. He has a nice sense of humor and he carries himself in a positive fashion. Can't help but like the guy.

But DAMN is it good to see a conceding speech on the other side of the pillow 8) I enjoyed it enormously and I'm awaiting for my President to speak to the world.

Beautifully said RVR. Thank you. This is truly an important moment in history to be part of.

McCain's speech was the best I've ever heard from him. Very moving.

The election of a man of a color is a great achievement and something to be celebrated. I just don't agree with his policies.

I don't either...but I recognize the significance to this country of his election, in terms of racial issues.

Others would do well to follow your lead, and not just on this board.

And there's no reason for sour grapes from ANY ONE (just as there's no need to rub it in when you win), it's all cyclical. It's not the first time a Dem will oust a Republican from the Oval Office and it's not the last time a Republican will occupy it. Just hold on tight for the ride, where ever it may take us.

I had goosebumps listening to his speech. The part at the end about the 106 year old lady who had seen so much, and here I am driving through Chicago where all this is taking place. It was almost surreal. It's history happening in the backyard.

Job creation? Are you smoking crack?

Jobs have left this country in biblical numbers. Under GWB, we've gone from a producer nation to a consumer nation...and almost all of our technical work has been outsourced to other countries. Our auto industry is in shambles and we've turned to fucking China for almost ALL our inexpensive goods.

Under GWB, Bush has allowed china to peg its Yuan against the Dollar...and done so in order to allow China to attract a great deal of our manufacturing....and to secure debt financing from the Chinese.

The man's a traiter....

Job creation....jesus. Where the fuck do you read this shit?

However...lets get to point...the punishment I am speaking of is the punishment for congress GWB to get away with driving our national debt up to biblical proportions. Bush has spent more than Clinton ever did...and he did so with a willing and enabling so-called "republican" congress. My children's children will have to pay that fucker's bill....and I resent him for burdening my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter with such debt.

I dunno...I'm probably the ONLY person that noticed the title of the song they played as he walked out. If that was planned....he most certainly isn't a gentleman...

I still have a great lack of respect for the man. I think he personifies the definition of 'politician' as defined in the movie The Hunt for Red October. A politician, when not kissing babies, is stealing their lollipops. McCain is phony as they come....he'd lie his way out of a burning movie theater just to be the first one out the door....

WHOA! First time a Democrat has won Virginia since 1964! It looks like a landslide in the making. I didn't think Obama (or any other Democrat)could seriously win Virginia.

America LOST period under the dictatorship of the Bush/Cheney regime.

Hopefully we can begin digging our way out now. I'll bet that the stock market goes wild tomorrow in celebration.

We can thank (or curse, depending on your political persuassion) Howard Dean for this.

Fredinator, I've thought about that. It's a possibility. But there's also a possiblity she wants to stay in the senate. I think I heard it mentioned by one of the analysts before. She's in a position to wield a lot influence in the senate. Someone said maybe she would run for Governor of New York. Time will tell.

That, is not the way democrats think or act, there are misguided individuals in both parties; it is not a time to gloat it's time to work together to get this country back to it's Proud, and respected status as the leader of the free world.
