lol...I find it remarkable that I never heard a peep about those comments. Had Palin said that the ACLU and a whole host of liberal entities would have been calling for her to drop out of the race. Instead, we heard nothing.

This is old news and I'm also surprised that it didn't get more attention. I was one of the first to post here that I thought Biden was a moron when Obama picked the guy. I honestly don't get the appeal of Biden at all. I completely understand the appeal of Obama. He comes across as a very compelling figure. I find nothing compelling about Biden. The dude has never had a filter and has always said a whole lot of stupid shit. Having said that, I still think the guy has more intellect in is big toe than that dope Palin has in her entire body.

If you wonder why some may be a bit nervous about the new administration...here is an example.
Does he really think government is going to outperform private industry? I'll tip my hat at his campaign tactic. How many government employees are there in Virginia and Maryland?

Obama Wrote Federal Staffers About His Goals

In wooing federal employee votes on the eve of the election, Barack Obama wrote a series of letters to workers that offer detailed descriptions of how he intends to add muscle to specific government programs, give new power to bureaucrats and roll back some Bush administration policies.

Another non-story.
Of course the EPA, the VA etc shouldn't be privatized.
Does every move this guy make have to be viewed as the death blow to the Republic?

Probably goes some way to showing the lengths he went to winning Virginia's electoral votes by promising the bureaucrats living in northern Virginia how he'd throw more money at their fumbling agencies.

He also wanted to soothe federal labor unions that he's bought and paid for.

I think it's ironic how few details he gave American citizens and taxpayers about what he'd do -- but he seemed willing and eager to let all the unionized federal bureaucrats know that he's on their side. Why not instead send an open letter to the American people describing how he'd stand up for their interests against entrenched government unions and bureaucrats? I s'ppose that's too much to ask someone who's busy being the Messiah.

So I guess in that sense it is a non-story -- President Obama plans to lavish lots of taxpayer dollars on non-functioning and anachronistic government bureaucracies (but not the Department of Defense), especially if their unionized employees were in a swing state that he wanted to win. No surprises here.

I don't know what you're talking about.
Obama discussed his policies in as much detail as soundbytes allow.
At the very least he talked a good game about taxes and the economy, meanwhile McCain and Palin were preoccupied talking about some 70's burnout named Bill Ayers.

Great.
So trade government burearacy for corporate bureacracy, where there's even less accountability.
Iraq is a profile in private contractors handling the public good (clean water etc) and its been a disaster.

Right.
So appropriated funds for blowing shit up is good, but clean air and water are little more than an inconvenience.

Yeah, ummm, that wasn't even a half-assed comeback. In fact, it was arguably stupid and insulting for the men and women who put on the uniform every day.

Guess I hit too close to home with my comment that President-elect Obama was the self-identified candidate of lavish spending for unionized federal bureaucrats in non-functioning and anachronistic federal agencies (except the Department of Defense). :D

Hope and Change = more taxpayer money for ossified, unionized federal bureaucrats in swing states that some Chicago political hack wants to win. :D

As far as being in the wilderness goes, won't Obama the Messiah lead me out???? [check one!] :D

_________ Yes, I'm mindlessly retarded like the people at obamamessiah.blogspot.com :D

_________ No, I still have a brain, like everyone else who's gratuitously making fun of the mindlessly retarded at obamamessiah.blogspot.com. :D

Only to jingoistic peons who equate the Department of Defense, a truly wasteful government agency, exclusively with the men and women serving in uniform.

This has been a hell of a thread. I think you should close it on January 20, 2009, when Obama is sworn in. That would be the official close of this election. Just my opinion. I'll STFU if you want.

I had a feeling the conflict of interest issue might come up with Hillary as Secretary of State. I've heard that both Obama and Hillary want this to happen, but it creates a whole lot of questions.

Yep, change we can believe in. Obama is now officially Clintons third term. Hillary at State, Richardson reportedly at Commerce, Robert Reich and all the others are back again, oh joy.

Yeah, Obama is all about change, isn't he? Looks like he is using the Washington establishment just like everyone else always does. If you claim to want change, how about actually showing it?

Well, I don't ever recall Obama ever saying that he was going to bring in a bunch of Washington "outsiders" into his administration. That said, it is beginning to look like the Bill Clinton White House. Now all he has to do is see if Monica wants to come by for a visit    I guess he can at least say that it is a "change" from W.!
