Hello everyone.

I thought this might be an opportunity to all get together to see just how many of you there are out there and to welcome new friends.

We have a monthly competition on Jeff Website which gives fans the opportunity to win signed goodies.
This month's question can only be found right here on the Melodic Rock JSS forum. Quite simply everyone who joins in this topic will be automatically be entered to win one of these exclusive prizes:

A) A '21st Century' promo CD and signed photo.
B) A signed 'Beautiful Mess' advertising poster.
C) A signed Firefest set list.

I'll also throw in some other JSS goodies!!!

We will randomly select three winners to each win a prize on the last day of November.
The winners will be announce right here!

If you are new to all this, then feel free to ask any questions, as we have lots very knowledgeable fans out there who just seem to know everything there is to know about the man.

Hi everyone. My name is Lisa. I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I have a husband and a gorgeous daughter. I used to be an elementary school teacher, and now I work in the education publishing field.
I became a fan of Jeff's when he joined with Neal to form Soul SirkUS. I was immediately hooked on Jeff's voice! He's a phenominal singer and an outstanding showman. For the first couple of years, my only concert experiences with Jeff were on YouTube. Then I was able to see the real deal with Journey in July of 2006! That was my daughter's (who was 6 at the time) first concert. We both thought Jeff's performance was incredible, and my daughter is now one of Jeff's biggest fans in the under 12 set! Since then, I've been gradually adding to my JSS collection of music. I look forward to more new music to come!

Hello all,
My first introduction to Jeff was the Rock Star soundtrack in 2001 (I bought 2 copies of it) Then I heard his cover for the Aerosmith tribute album, about a year or two later, once again I loved what I was hearing (it is the BEST cover of Cryin' ever). I had limited internet access from '03-'05, and I never had time to do a search to see what else he had done, so decided to put him on the backburner for a while.

I didn't know how [insanely] extensive and impressive his resume was until I got a computer with internet and looked on YouTube to see if by any chance there was a performance of him singing the Rock Star tunes. It was the first time I was matching a name and voice with a face! This coincided with the news of him jumping in the Def/Journey tour (you couldn't have timed it any better) Obviously this made me so happy, I had trouble containing my excitement. I know it's silly, but a few weeks before my show, I was randomly telling people in public, "Hey I'm gonna see Jeff Scott Soto live" (weird looks all around) I probably would have ended up digging deeper into Jeff's musical history even without the Journey gig, thanks to the YouTube clips.

Jeff's talent transcends rock/metal genres (which got me hooked in the first place). He can make a terrible song sound a million times better, and an already excellent song a million times more excellent. He can even make the 'show-me-what-you-got' non-believers go "Wow.." (though they may not want to admit it!) He can move an audience with his voice so strongly... No matter the music, no matter the place, his heart and soul is always there, and he makes sure everyone sees and hears it.

A quick comment about his stage presence... I've never done drugs, but I imagine the way I feel when I see JSS perform onstage like being on some sort of drug, a good one That magnetic showmanship could make one's head rapidly spin off their shoulders and explode. It is that good.

So, I'm a semi-old/semi-new fan (old-new!) 2 1/2 years of enjoying the whole JSS catalog, but 7 years of being in complete awe of that mega rock star voice. The voice that had me yearning for more, "How awesome is he! Listen to that rock 'n' roll wail, What band is he in? What else does he sing?" It took me a few years to find out, and when I did, I was quite pleased I guess I've technically loved Jeff before I even knew what he looked like, that's real love

I don't like to impose my music tastes on anyone... if they don't like it, they don't like it, and I'm usually fine with that. But Jeff is the one singer I continue to shove in people’s faces, until they warm up to him. He's more than worth it.

I'm Dave

I'm a college student currently attending Millersville University for meteorology. I first discovered JSS in the band Soul SirkUS and was actually at the 1st Soul SirkUS show at the Crockodile Rock. JSS owned the stage that night and since I picked up the World Play album I've been a JSS follower and have picked up his solo albums along with other projects he's been in (sans the various cover albums, no offense JSS but I can't stand cover albums) like Talisman, Malmsteen, etc.

allo my name is wendy & i'm a jeff scott soto dork.

first heard his voice on knac (la radio station) back in `85. the song was 'don't let it end" by yngwie malmsteen. for a long while i thought the singer was yngwie... until i borrowed a tape from a friend & read the jacket... & was told the singer was a jeff scott soto. fast forward to 2006... while surfing youtube i came across some jss videos & that was it... i was in awe! later asked him to be my myspace buddy. a couple months later he joined journey. my hubby will never forget that day. we were on vacation & he woke to me screaming... "NO F'IN WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" something like that... hehehee!

This almost makes up for not being able to go to Firefest and having to enjoy it vicariously through the texts and pics and vids from Crazy D and Sunny P! And for not getting a single good pic of Jeff from any of the three shows I've seen this year (except the one that SOMEONE - you know who you are - lol) accidentally erased from my camera in CT after the Scrap Metal show!
