Oh, and much thanks to Richard's cat, who apparently can smell cat people's names on paper from an ocean away!
(Yes, we have many beasties here at casa Slimey...but most are kitties)

Prizes

Postby JSS PROMOTIONS » Fri Dec 05, 2008 3:09 am

Yes. One of my cats (Jack) is an ex-police cat that can open doors, save children from drowning and rescue mice from collapsed buildings! Every time I put a magazine or paper on the floor he will come over and investigate, so he did actually select the winners! He even offered to post the prizes himself, but I didn't want to put him out!!!

So far I have only heard from Suzanne who has emailed me to receive her prize (which is on its way). I happened to find some old radio promos lying about, so I have now included one in each of the JSS Goodie bags!

Could Anastasia from Greece (aka JBJ) and 'Edge' please email me at: jsspromotions@jeffscottsoto.com (or if you know them, please give them a nudge).

Regards,

Richard

I don't believe I actually won something! Thanks Richard!!!! This almost makes up for not being able to go to Firefest and having to enjoy it vicariously through the texts and pics and vids from Crazy D and Sunny P! And for not getting a single good pic of Jeff from any of the three shows I've seen this year (except the one that SOMEONE - you know who you are - lol) accidentally erased from my camera in CT after the Scrap Metal show!

...seriously...even without winning something cool from Richard, all of you here have made this year a blast for me...I've had fun and really enjoyed seeing Jeff and also seeing CAT3 and getting to meet some of you at shows! You are some seriously fun and crazy peeps! :D :D :D :D

CONGRATULATIONS, Suzanne! :D Enjoy your prize!

Thanks, Kim...LOVE the av that Deb made for you!! 8)

Love that one too, I'll let you know, but I have a feeling that clip is going to be too dark to make one from, not enough lighting.

This month's prize!!!

Postby JSS PROMOTIONS » Tue Feb 24, 2009 9:04 pm

JSS FEBRUARY COMPETITION
This month has a rather unique prize, as you can win one of the master artworks from 'Beautiful Mess'. I created each spread as a large format piece of artwork, with the original intension of using them as stage back drops! Each composition was carefully related to the whole 'Beautiful Mess' theme.

Over the next few months I will make these pieces of artwork available as prizes in Jeff's monthly competition, with the added bonus of Jeff's signature! The first of which will be the cityscape with the romantic kiss over a war-torn city. The originals for these are massive, but I will print off individual copies which will be suitable for framing.

To win this month's prize of a signed piece of artwork and a rare 'Beautiful Mess' promo, just go to the competition page on Jeff's site and answer the following question:

How many computer wallpaper downloads are there on the new 'Beautiful Mess' DVD?

Good luck!

Darn it, I don't think I'll get my dvd before the end of the month to find the answer to enter this one. Everything always takes at least a couple weeks to get to Canuckland.

...for minor consideration, perhaps one of us non-Canuckians could be persuaded to help you out, LOL! It's not like you didn't buy the cd/dvd, after all...
Wait, then again...if you don't enter, that helps our odds....hmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Extension granted

Postby JSS PROMOTIONS » Wed Feb 25, 2009 11:11 pm

Hey! I'll extend the competition for a week... especially for you... and others who are still awaiting delivery. I packaged one up the other day for Peru, so goodness knows how long that will take to get there!

The Winner is....

Postby JSS PROMOTIONS » Fri Mar 13, 2009 10:50 pm

The winner of February's online JSS competition is:

Teresa Sancho Bossut, from Spain.

She correctly answered that there were 12 free wallpaper downloads on Jeff's new album DVD.

Congratulations. A signed piece of artwork from 'Beautiful Mess' and rare promo are on their way to you.

Many thanks to all who entered.

Stand by for the March competition question to be posted soon.

I love rock music especially music with great vocalists. I first heard Jeff back in the mid to late nineties when the internet was beginning to be a place where you could look for music clips. I first heard him with Talisman and I was hooked. I searched and bought every CD that was available. He is an incredible artist and I will support everything he chooses to do.

I have the collective works of Talisman, Eyes, Human Clay, JSS solo work, Soul Sirkus, Axel Rudi Pell, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kuni, Scrapp Metal, Sentimetal, Boogie Nights, Takara, Etc. Anything I could get my hands on that he fronted I've bought.

I've seen him mulitple times in concert, bought the Gods DVD, became a fan of Journey again, at least for a short time and saw him with them in concert four times.

The man is a true artist, and hopefully many others will discover his talent and provide the mainstream success that he deserves. Great performer, great singer, and just a great guy all around. I wish you all the success in the world Jeff, you deserve it all my friend.

Tom

Okay, I'll bite....

I have been into music from a very young age, and was into Yngwie Malmsteen. I knew of JSS, but never knew he put out music after Yngwie until 2003. That's when I joined this site (well reading it anyway) and really began researching Melodic Rock bands, and overseas music. I was not aware of the music scene outside of the continental U.S. So one of the first CDs I bought was LITT by JSS (2004). It is STILL one of my favorite CDs. Easily in my Top 10. (For the record, I broke out Eyes last week, and Wired 4 Love still has one of the best hooks in a song IMHO.) Anyway...since 2003 I have been a part of this website, and posted here and there along with JSS forums. I'm always afraid of being labeled a "groupie" so I don't post or say a whole lot....I have tried to see JSS live before but came up short each time. (I still wish I would have seen the Boogie Knights show, dude!)

When JSS was introduced as Journey's new lead singer, we got in contact. It was only two shows before he came through Charlotte, NC. He came through like a champ and gave me tWo Meet & Greet passes, plus a couple of tix. (I never old him this but I had already bought lawn seats because I wasn't going to miss it. I couldn't believe he was being so kind to a slacker like me.) Now, I have never been to a Meet & Greet and well......was not aware that it was BEFORE the show. (By the way, when Journey was on stage it stormed like a MoFo outside so that was kind of an additional form or 'cool'.) So I take my date and go back near the backstage area and ol' security guard doughboy tells me I missed the M&G. SAY WHAT!?!?!?! At that moment, fire and brimstone fell from the sky......or I wanted it to.

Man, I did everything but threaten to kick this dude's ass, and I'm a fairly low key dude. A woman came from back stage (I think it was a friend of Ross') and I told her to let JSS know I was here. (Surprisingly, she did!) Ricky Soto also overheard and told me to chill, I was going in with him. Jeffro comes to the gate, let's everyone in except for my date and I..........just kidding. He let us in too. It was very cool, and very chill. (It was also great to feel the air conditioning, and if JSS remembers that night, he knows what I'm talking about!) In my opinion it was 100 times better than any meet and greet. I missed a good portion of Def Leppard and couldn't have cared less. I got to meet Neal Schon which is a guitar hero of mine and he was very kind.

The thing that meant more than anything was that JSS treated us like family, and as if we had known each other for years. (I guess we had in a way.) His kindness will never be forgotten. It was a wonderful night.......despite my date turning into a sabretooth demon by the end of the night.

Thanks again, Jeff! That meant a lot to me, dude!
